Topic #57035 10 posts Started by supra12big
My brother has been looking for a 6th gen for a while, and we just stumbled across this 99 with 110k for 4800, it looks like a good deal, I still gotta ask the guy for a the maintance and so on, anything I should be looking out for in the 99's and the 5sfe, I have a 94 st with a 3sgte swap so I am not used to the problems and 5sfe motor, thanks everyone heres the link

To me it sounds a little expensive, I got a 94 GT w/ 120k miles for $3100... new timing belt and clutch just like the one you found.

That one is a 99 though, so a little newer...plus I bought mine from a private owner. I don't know much about engines, so I can't help you with the 5sfe question.
Check and see what kind of suspension you have. I am not 100% sure about USDM cars, but the 99 might very well have superstrut on it. If it does, make sure it's been sorted and you have receipts for fig 8s, banana arms, drop links etc. Renewal is between 60k and 80k (miles) depending on how it was driven.
no super strut on the 99. no super strut in the US. no problem with fig 8 smile.gif
sounds like a deal to me. i paid more for mine with more miles.

Call me a traitor! See if I care. ;)
talk him down to 4500 but thats not to bad for a 99...i would go for it

4800 for a 99 is cheap! Well, compared to the prices in So Cal...

I'd totally hit a 98/99. The last good years of the Celica.

check it out, try n lower the price a bit..

then cop it!

Pandelica 2.0 in progress.
i got my 94 gt with leather and everything possible on it for 1700 but i wrecked it recently and the insurance claim gave me 5500 for it so idk... it all depends,

u never pay too much for something u enjoy....
its a 99,,
its so so on the price,, the year justifies the price,, but has lots of miles for a 99, i got mine (96 with 105 miles) for 2500,,, but i think i was lucky...
i will say try to talk to the seller to see if he can lower the price and then go for it.
