E-Brake Light - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #55829 10 posts Started by UTSlickVic
I decided to push it on the Hway last night (took awhile to get up to 90mph wink.gif ). Anyways, I applied my brakes harder than I usually do (did not slam on them) and the ebrake like flashes.

What does this mean?
low on fluid. Top it off.

Is it actually your brake light in the dash, you mean? This could be one of two things. Most likely, it's because you're low on brake fluid. Less likely, it could be a bad e-brake switch that's triggering the sensor to make the light come on. If it's coming on randomly, it's likely your fluid level.
Cool I hope its just fluid. It doesnt come on randomly... just when I brake hard.
i'd put my money on it being the brake fluid... and i bet its because your brake lines are expanding enough under the extra pressure caused by hard braking to bring the level down, maybe some SS brake lines would do you well

THE STUFFS FOR SALE!
plus when you brake hard, the fluid sloshes around in the reservoir, so it will give you a low reading if your level is borderline, turning on the light.

Ding-ding-ding! That's what I'm bettin' on too...
also check your pads, they might be low.
yep, happened to me too. just top off the fluid and it'll take care of the light. what you should be more worried about is why your fluid got low. most likely the pads are getting pretty low.
