Tein S. Tech springs? - 6G Celicas Forums

Who has these installed? I might get them, but i'm afraid that 1.4" drop in the front and only a .9" in the back might look dumb. Anyone have these or seen them installed? I looked that the members rides, but its hard to tell with pics.

It looks really good, the height difference is very minimal. just make sure you have a low boy jack. don't make the same mistake I did....

IMO with the tein s techs you'll end up with a more aggressive look. Its not tacky and its very subtle. I lowered mine on sprint springs and they are 2" all around. The front looks a little more raised than my back. I would go with the s techs.

you mean the super slim jack that can fit anywhere??? LOLz i just use 2 jacks a small 2 ton and then follow up with a 3 ton jack..........its just getting the car back down is the hard part.

... lowered 2" shouldn't bee too much of a problem to fit a jack under?

teins look very nice, i prefer to look of the back raised up a bit more than the front, makes it look more 'race car' like

i liked the feel of the teins when i had them.. the ride height was nice but wished they springs were harder. the gt-four springs that i have now performs much better.

Its all up to you. How many miles do you have on the chasis? Its always a good idea to change a lot of the suspension components out when lowering maybe 14 year old car. Boots, strut mounts, struts, end links, ect. Its a good idea to change out the struts, but if you are going with the s techs you wont put as much strain on the struts like some other springs out there. Again its your call. Do you want to do the job twice or do it once right?

well everything on the front end was just replaced.. axle, break setup, struts. There not brand new, but there from a newer celica.. i'm really debating getting these teins.. just waiting to get my one rim so i can stop ridding on a dount.

I say focus on the little things like the donut you're rolling on, then worry about lowering it. Even then I know its like a little task to do, but make sure you have the money before you jump on it, because soo many htings can pop up like maybe your end links.

i say do it one time..........cuz after you do your springs.......or any suspension stuff you will have to get your alignment done.

I'm 18. I already have the dount covered. I'm just waiting for wheelsnext to process my insurance claim. (its taking forever) yeah i won't just jump into it. I'll make sure i plan it out first.

hahah you graduated last year??? if so well join the c/0 2007 club............lol i'm 18 also. biggrin.gif

my advice to you is take things very easy and slow. if your going school try to focus on that a little more than the car. if your car runs good. handles fine.........no noises, leaks........etc.............then the car is good altogether. trust me i had soo many people tell me why did i put that on my car or why did i do/buy that to the car/for the car.

and to tell you the truth i dont know why........lol

for me i did things backwards...............body some engine then suspension work.

if you check the general discussion forums i have my plans all thought out.

i should've done suspension. body. clutch and flywheel...............but i did body.........clutch..........no flywheel........rims.........and now planning on suspension.

imo suspension will cost the same as what i did body wise but will benefit you alot more.

i feel so stupid.........


but back to topic.

here's what i SUGGEST you to do.

suspension:
shocks/struts-------i'm guessing kyb
springs--------------prolly the teins
top mounts-----new factory ones???
grease the wheel bearing

do all one time and then get your alignment done at a shop

you said you did brakes.........cool

if your kinda iffy about the teins there are tanabe springs the gf210 to be exact that drop only 1" front and i think 0.6" rear but its 30% stiffer than stock.

those are what i'm considering for myself cuz i have 404 sides and they hang pretty low as is.

if your still debating on changing your shocks YES do all and everything you can get $$$ wise on your suspension. so you do everything one time.

The reason I ask is cuz I want the car to sit evenly when I drop it.

I look at the Eibach and Tein springs:

Eibach Sportline Drops it 1.5 inches in the front and back

Tein S-Tech drops it Front 1.4", Rear 0.9in


Does this mean the Tein ones will let my car sit evenly (and by evenly I mean ----------- that even .. lol)

If you guys have any other suggestions on springs that will help me do this please let me know...

Teins
with stock 195/60/15's (same wheels and tire size as stock above, springs are already settled here)

with 215/45/17's (like an hour after installing the springs so they've settled and are very very slightly lower in the front now)

now that I've had them more than a year they've settled completely. not too much of a difference, the tires are different, same size but have more tread so they look bigger

thanks for the pics... Ill be getting teins and some kybs soon for better suspension bc my springs are getting worn out that I have now and they are too low.

you guys know what.......its official im going tiens........although my original plan was tanabe for the stiffer springs............the tiens give the drop i want.
