Factory paint color name - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #5451 13 posts Started by Pinky
Hey guys!

After years of being a wannabe, I finally found my Celica. It's a 1994 6G ST, pretty much unmolested. I'm glad I found this site, because I'll probably have lots of questions. And you all seem very nice >bowdown.gif>

I'd like to know how to describe the color (don't trust my eyes), and I'd like to know the factory name for this original color. It's sorta blue-green or teal or aqua. I've been searching this website, and it looks like Doodiehead's car color.

All input appreciated.

Hey,
If its the same color as mine, its called turquoise i think. Thats what my dealer called it when I was ordering touch up paint. There is also a sea-foam green or some color like that, but it sounds like you've got the turquoise. Call it whatcha will though. Sometimes I call mine blue, somtimes green, and if I'm feeling imaginative, something like blue-green. Anyways. Its paint # 746, touch up paint is P/N 00258-00746 from your toyota dealer. Good luck with the celi! Get some pics posted.

Oh, and if it turns out that it is the same color, you and I have the same car (Hatchback, GT, manual, 94, turquoise). Rock on!!!!

AH! yes, welcome to the "WTF is the color of my car" club! I still dont know lol...
That color is the sea-foam blue like someone said earlier. It's pretty tight for a factory color. You don't see a lot of cars driving around with it.
I've never seen another one in real life other then mine....since the day i was born.
Yeah, I love it.

I hope pinky is a chick cus if it's a dude he needs to have his @$$ beat for picking a name like that.
I thought the color PowellCelica had was called steelblue *scratchs head* Oh well. LoL! Pinky? I know a lady at the nursing home I work with named Pinky, really funny lady in the SCU (Special Care Unit) Doubt anyone cares but neh.
Pinky,

you should get some pics up, that way we can help you out better. Late!

Hey Pinky,

Visit your local dealership and they can read some number off your drivers side door. there is a code they can write down and look it up...should only take 5 minutes to figure out exactly what your color is and you can save that code and give it to your paint and body shop to match the color if you ever need it it get it painted.

Thanks Octacon. Maybe we posted about the same time, because that's what I had just posted! >cwm13.gif>

Okay, so if anyone else wants to post their code found on their door sticker as I described above, I will make a chart of the color options and get it on the website.
