I think bronze, gold, gunmetal, and hyper black wheels look better on black cars. Black cars + black wheels = too much black. Anyway, I voted for wheel # 2. Love 'em clean 5-spokes with lips.
I voted # 3 because when you have a full body kit and the car is lowered, if you have rims with spokes too narrow (not filled in) it doesnt look balanced. It looks like something is missing or empty. So i voted the mesh design to help tie the car together.
Don't think any of those would look too good thumbsdown.gif

+1 for dark bronze or gunmetal.

chose #2 cuz its smooth and it doesnt have those bullet looking things in #3 and #4

I don't normally drive fast, but when I do its on a curvy section of this island
what kind are #5? i voted 3, but i think 5 would look sweet on mine.

Should i go with 7 or 7.5?

BANNED. for life, you moron.
I vote for none of them. They all give off a "Sears" quality look. I personally prefer painted silver.

if you get spacers, get 7s, but otherwise 7.5s.

2 or 4... black w/ polished lip would look nice. plain black is too much black

I think i would rather do 7.5 for a wider rim....is there much of a price dif for 7.5 tires?

Have you decided on some rims yet? I think these will look great on your car. $145 a piece from edgeracing.com. I don't care for the spokes but I'm crazy about that lip. thumbsup.gif thumbsup.gif

Id rather buy them frm sportsmax, and yes i have really looked into those rims, there not dark enough

I personally wouldn't go with that color black. I woudl look for something hyperblack in an 18". Hyperblack V-spoke would look very nice on your car.
2, but not a fan of gloss black wheels

I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside.

tire sizes aren't measured in inches of width. you could fit a 205 on a 7" or 7.5" wheel. the skinnier it is, the cheaper it'll be, but I really wouldn't go any less than 205 although I'm sure you could fit 195, possibly even 185, on a 7" wheel. but traction and handling will suck and it'll only save you like $30-40 for the set. for what you want, I'm sure 7" wheels with 205/50/17 or 215/45/17 tires will be fine.

depends on the tire really, some have stiff sidewalls that don't like to stretch, others are very flexible. I've seen a 235 mounted on a 7" wide wheel. and MKIII supra guys put up to 245 and even 255 on their stock 7" wide wheels. but mostly for drag racing. for daily driving they usually don't put more than a 225 or so. it's not recommended to put wider than a 225 on a 7" wide wheel. the tire will look really big for the wheel and hang over the lip of the wheel and stuff too. which would be good cause it'll protect your wheel if were to accidentally curb it. for a 7.5" wheel you could do a 245, maybe 255. of course, in terms of what will fit on the celica, I've never seen bigger than 235, and you have to get the right offset in order for that to clear everything. I hope to find out what the widest we can fit is when I get around to doing wheels and tires. eventually.

these are the tires im thinking of:

Yokohama S.drive

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?ti...yes&place=0

Yokohama tires give great performance. really good grip and handling. but they wear out quick! if you want to be replacing them every year, possibly sooner depending on how hard you drive them, then they are great! although, 225/35/17 is a super low profile tire, any pothole could easily damage your nice new wheels. you might want to go with a 225/45/17, the difference in ride quality will be pretty big, and they'll lift you a little bit higher off the ground to keep you from scraping on every speed bump and it'll keep your wheels safer. 225/45/17 seems to be the most popular tire size on this website for the people who demand performance out of their cars.

I like wheel #2

225/45/17 is a good size for 7.5 wheel.

35 is just too low, youll hate it.
hmm im thinking 225/40/17..mabye nitto neo gens??

good luck finding that size. 225/45/17 is much more common and therefore will be a lot cheaper. I don't know much about Nitto tires, so I can't really comment. Toyo Proxes T1R's are excellent tires, same with Falken Azenis, maybe you should consider those. Some others to consider are the Dunlop Direzza DZ101 and BF Goodrich G-force Sport.

What are your plans? Wide and low pro tires with a slammed look? or a decent ride thats lowered?

You can search around tirerack for pricing on the tires you want.
225/40 - speedo is off by 5ish or more mph, 225/45 great ride and good grip, speedo will be changed very slightly

second one, but I'd prefer to paint them one color like gun metal or bronze.

Hello.
I'm having a similar problem that you are. I decieded not to go down the black route tho. I more of wanting to show off the wheels and rims. Think the black hides them too much. Please show pictures of what you do do. I posted a similar question. Size i am wanting is 215/40/R17. But 225 still v good.
Hate the standard ones i have on.
