I just installed front and rear bigger Tanabe stabilizer bars, but I must say I'm not really happy of this mod.

It just happens that in tarmac mountain roads around my home, now I have big lacks of traction out of corners, prolly because the rear internal wheel is no more touching the ground...

Happens the same to you ?

So it's just an "only-track" modification ?

are the bars adjustable?

they are something that you need to "tune" to the right setup, just like any other modification on a car.


if you put something on and you stiffen up the rear TOO much well thats not the product's fault for doing its job, its the users fault for putting the wrong thing on.

But I installed the whole kit for ST205, the front and the rear stabilizer bars.

In fact I didn't say the product is faulty... did I ??
I just said that probably it's not good for where I use the car... bumpy mountain tarmac roads.

ah non-adjustable isn't much fun

if you have adjustable shocks (doubtable) try stiffening them up a bit this will help keep the rear tyres planted in corners.

normally if one wheel is not contacting the ground during a corner, then the shock diagonal from it needs to be stiffened up some.

suspension is a fun and involved function on cars

I have Tein Superstreet ( F10k & R6k ), but I felt it very soft in streets, so I already stiffened up the max I could...

are you set full stiff all the way around?

you have to re-adjust the entire suspension after every modification.

try to soften up the rear shocks. This will give them more grip and make the car more traction out of the corner.

Yesterday I had a rainy track day...

never had tha car going so bad... impossible to accelerate out of turns, if not with the car perfectly straight...

I played a bit with the shicks... soften up rear and front helped a bit...

I discovered it's the internal front wheel to be up in turns... that's why I get the limiter in every gear accelerating out of turns...
so I gave more preload to the rear shocks to have more weight on the front.
That helped a bit, but then it, obviously, happened that out of turns, after few moments of understeer, I got hard oversteer to control...

I think I'm going to remove, for first, the front Tanabe stabilizer bar, and see how it behaves.

Most GT four owners (185 and 205) only install a thicker rear sway bar and leave the front as it is. Guess you had to find out the hard way.

If your front wheels are coming up in the corners, then i'd suggest maybe 2 clicks stiffer in the rear for your shock setting. This might help to solve that issue.

But like you have already noted and Kadett affirmed, removing the after market front bar and reinstalling the OEM one might be a good solution to the issue as well.


let me also add major points for actually taking your car to the track. I think you are one of few here that does.

As you can see after 00:40, the white smoke is coming from my internal front wheel spinning out of turns !

It really seems that I have to solve the lack of traction problem...
the IDEAL solution would be to install a front LSD... but unfortunately it doesn't exists !

Italian track days are much different than here in the states and your friend is a poor driver.

Do you guys have ride along instructors to teach braking points, corner entry/exit, weight transfers ect?!

your lines are horribly erratic and all over the place with very little setup.
