How do you remove the govenor / rev limiter. My car tops out at 112mph I believe. A buddy of min on his tc said all he had to do was unplug something and it was removed? let me know please.

I think you mean 5sFe. I'm fairly certain certain there is no govenor on GTs.

I thought a governer regulates/directs hydraulic pressure in an automatic tranny?

If your GT is in the US it has a governer unless it gets rerouted. Removing the governer makes your car not street legal. And I'm pretty sure it kicks in at 120 mph, as I tested it in my ST on the way to Galveston. Perhaps the GT is different than mine, but I can't imagine why they would let the 7A go faster than the 5S. But then again, stranger things have happened...

"He won't come out of the bathroom. He keeps telling us we're dark somethings and not his friends.""Hmm. Ask him if he's the dragon reborn.""What?""Just do it."".......He said yes.""Tell him you are not darklings. He should open up."".......Sweet. Thanks.""No problem."
my ST has a governor that kicks in at 116, and my GT i have reached 135 indicated and then it was drag limited, but with more HP it would have gone further than that at least. Just my experience

my gt topped out at 137, that was b/c i had no more room. i could have gone a lil higher i am sure. i never hit a limiter
I know the ST has a fuel cut at 5k rpm in 5th stopping it at around 115-116. I remember somewhere on here is how to remove it.

All i remember is you need to cut some wire in the back of your ecu and doing this will result in a permanent check engine light.

lol, exact same for me. There is no limiter on the gt. But there is no need to go over 112. I was just young and stupid wink.gif
