everyone look at this picture of a corvette.

IPB Image

see how underneath the front bumper there is a black plastic piece that extends towards the ground.

Does it help with aerodynamics and what not?

would it be benificial to add one to our celicas?

Seems like all GM cars have that, just some kind of thing so that that front doesn't scape on the ground I guess.

Even that crappy sunfire has that lol

I think it deflects the air in to the radiator for cooling

Guys, that extension is the "jdm" look for GM lol.

OMG ITS TEH SUP3R SECRET BODY KIT!!!

"He won't come out of the bathroom. He keeps telling us we're dark somethings and not his friends.""Hmm. Ask him if he's the dragon reborn.""What?""Just do it."".......He said yes.""Tell him you are not darklings. He should open up."".......Sweet. Thanks.""No problem."
In all honesty. The extension won't look good on the celica. I think the euro spec extension look best.

Must be something to do with aeros, surely?! Good question. I actually smashed one off a hire car in Italy a couple of months ago... kindasad.gif it was a diesle Fiat though (bollocks build quality!), and was only STAPLED on from the factory to begin with!!! laugh.gif

The front lip on the vette looks like it limits the airflow under the car. If air doesn't get under the car, a pocket of low pressure is created which sucks the car towards the ground. Low pressure=downforce biggrin.gif
Having a low front end that directs airflow around the car would help the celica with downforce.

not sure how to link but this explains basic car aerodynamics.

isn't it just called an air dam?

thats exactly what it does...most/all GM cars should have it...my camaro has one..it deflects the air up into the rad. to keep it cool...the one on my camaro was busted up so i took it off and replaced it and it ran a little colder...doesnt make a huge difference but it was designed to help keep the engine cool.

its strange why toyota does not have that design on there cars.
^ probably dont need it, the cars I see it on have relativly small inlet(s) on the bumper (exception: the vette having a much bigger motor and higher output needs all the air it can get) and probably need the extra air where the celica has a pretty large opening for air.
Keep it genuine.
