Rmemeber my ramblings aout the next supra and my THEORIES with the V-10 Toyota Supercar. Well Road and Track has jsut realeased a new article stating that their sources have found Toyota to be building a V-10 supe.r car for Lexus and a New Supra for 2005. Looks like my theory is possibly correct. Fromm further digging and a few calls...ive found out that the 2005 date is a bit off. Toyota is planning on going all out on sports cars...V-10 Supercar with 6 speed and 6 speed sequential. Supra 6-Speed or 6-Speed sequential (?) or possibl automatic with 5-speed shift. 8G Celica...very fuzzy details. Due for 2006.

Remember...you haeard it from Nate first before Road and Track =P

It's gonna be early 90s all over again. A new Z car is launched, and Mazda and Toyota launch their own cars to compete. Wild.

I just hope once the new supras come out the older ones lower a little in price. I wouldn't mind pickin up a TT supra.

I love my 6gc but if the 2005/6 supra even comes within a mile of me and I here that V-10, by by celi hello supra. Maybe I'll keep her because of the history but supra......V-10.......yyyuuuummmm >>

It's gonna be N/A. Turbo engines are too expensive and complicated.

I agree...I want pictures too LOL

Road and Track made a pic about the Lexus V-10 supercar...but we all know how crappy their concept pics are.

I hate to burst your guys bubbles but Toyota HAD attempted to release a V-8 400HP Supercar in the early 90's. The car was simply AMAZING and it was known as the 4000GT. Critics hailed it and loved it.....but due to sagging Supra sales im guessing thats why it was never realeased =(.

Heres my POSSIBLE line up.

October 2003: Release of Supra and Lexus sportscar plans
August 2006: Release of the Supra N/A
November 2006: Release of the HKS Twin turbo kit for the Supra
December 2006: Release of the Lexus Supercar. Possible named 4000 or 5000GT
March 2007: 8G Celica Release.

supercar wars is gonna be badass.

the mazda rx-7 gonna be reborn in 2006. supposively there will be a mazdaspeed verison using turbo rotary making about 300 bhp and base model using the n/a renisis (spelling?) rx-8 engine.

the rx-8 wont be discontinued they will both be coming out at the same time.

that'd be so badas if it does come out. another pure sports car.

Sorry guys, but I'm with Natalie on this one. If they do release the Supra again, it shouldnt be called the Supra because every concept Ive seen looks like complete ass and it would ruin the Supra name.

Not many.

Nate how good is your source on the Celica? I hate to be a bringer of doom, but it's really strange for a car to be released regularly for 20/30 years or whatever then to survive after a several year gap. Are they going to run the 7th gen untill 2007? I don't think so..

I would imagine it would be the general five years of the same body style. IMO I would guess around '05-'06 there would for sure be a new Celica out.

Japanese Supercars arent limited to 280. THey jsut say that due to a gentlements agreement early in the supercar battle.|
