some weeks ago i noticed that there is a small racetrack not far away from me so i decided to get there and drive some rounds
here are some videos i made with a cheap webcam.. video1 and another in better quality with revs and sideforce in g video2
i made some new videos, this time with my digicam
good quality video [25mb]
not so good quality video ..
and another one i made som weeks ago video2

the tires are 205/55/15 Bridgestone Blizzak LM22, they're not bad for winter tires

The video out of the car showing the car going around the track is 20x better than the one in car. I would have to say that your car is looking good. What suspension mods do you have done?

Okay checked your profile, K sporty coilovers and trd strut bar. No anti roll bars?

its not easy to get some here in germany for the celica smile.gif but i think the stock bars are good enough and i dont get much body roll with the k-sport suspension
looks pretty descent to me without the stabilizers. sway bars should be used to compliment the springs/shocks, you shouldnt rely on them alone to stiffen cornering. if its fine enough as it is, no need to add any change, especially if its gonna cost you big $$$ to get them where you are

you know why they put sheep at the edge of a cliff.... that way they push back!(2:27:32 AM) edit: please f*cking work, f*ck, sh*t, piss(2:28:08 AM) edit: that did the trick
great videos!
i love seeing that there are ST's out there that are used for more than grocery getters.
car looks like in good shape! Wish i had the money to fix a few things so I can take mine out for a few laps.

btw what program/sensor are you using to collect, record and playback the data on screen?

the data is recorded with an Innovate LMA-3 and a laptop, the software for playback is Logworks 3, i record this with HyperCam 2 and insert it with PowerDirector in the incar video

btw.. it looks like i killed a wheel bearing last sunday.. perhaps to much sideforce biggrin.gif but i got some very good lap times...
new wheel bearing, new videos.. i changed the camber i little bit, front around 1° und rear around 1.4°
the car drives very neutral, not much understeer and the back is very stable, the car moves over all 4 wheels at limit, the only weak point(besides engine biggrin.gif ) are the brakes, got some Brembo MAX rotors and Textar pads, the brake pedal gets very soft after 2 turns with average braking
first video is a complete turn, some laps in front of a Clio RS and the rest trying to follow him(around 170hp/1110kg) link
and one lap behind the Clio with rpm, speed, afr and sideforce link
Cool, I get to see what my car would look like on a trck tongue.gif

I got some new videos, this time from the Eurospeedway Lausitzring, a 4.5km long racetrack.
Its very different to the other small racetrack, very fast corners and much longer straight sections. This track kills brakepads, i got some cheap but not bad pads and killed them in only 3000km kindasad.gif its time for the 304mm K-Sport brake biggrin.gif

short video of the day

that looks like so much fun. I'm trying to figure out how to mount my camera in my car for autocrossing. Any ideas on how too without just having my buddy hold it in the passenger seat?

That looks good, much better then those i found in germany. I still need a good mount for the cam in the car, my selfmade mount is shaking allot and a passenger holding the cam isnt that good too wink.gif.

I adjusted the suspension a little bit and set camber in front to 2.4°, thats alot for daily driving but on the track perfect, i got a bit more sideforce and the car feels much better when going in the turn, now i need to find a good tire pressure, at the moment i'm driving with 2.5bar on all tires resulting in 3.0bar after a turn and thats overkill. Next time i set front to 2.1bar and back 2.2-2.3bar, i hope this will give me a little more grip in corners when the tires are warm.
The next thing i'll do is installing a TRD front strut brace, i'm very curious how much it will do for cornering performance.
nice vid... how's it like on the track?
I finaly get the TRD strut brace, just need to get some bolts for the firewall. And i have 2 new videos from last tuesday from the Eurospeedway, the complete turn link and 2 laps with speed, sideforce, afr and rpm link (63mb)

where'd you find that strut brace at? link?

biggrin.gif some weeks ago i lost this block on the racetrack because of some loose nuts rolleyes.gif
wasn't really funny the moment i noticed that..
New Video.. Link

Last weekend there were two all day trackdays at the Eurospeedway and i finally had the chance to test some semislicks on my Celica. I got a used set of Toyo Proxes R888 and i love them!! I expected more sideforce with those tires, i think 1.9bar (28psi) is too much pressure on semislicks, but they give a very safe feeling. The car is very easy to drive at the limit and starts very late with understeer.
My best time with my street tyres(Potenza RE720) was 2:29,5.. with the R888 i made a 2:25,5. But i definitely need a much bigger and better brake, i killed more then half of a new set brake pads in 5 turns kindasad.gif and my Brembo MAX discs doesn't really look good too ...
The second thing i really start to need is much more power wink.gif, the 7A runs good, better then most people expect, but it sucks if you are 2 times faster in corners than a lot other cars but don't have a chance to overtake them on the straight.. i hate >150hp family cars.. laugh.gif

nice the lines seem real good, but is that track bumpy or is it the camera shaking alot
The camera is shaking alot because of my very cheap selfmade camera mount wink.gif, but the track is also a little bit bumpy, especially in corners.
o makes sense but thats cool i wish their was one near me i could go to thats was open during the week that didnt cost to much
Got a new video from the Eurospeedway, including a yellow NA MK3 Supra and a silver ST202 (175hp 3S-GE)
The cam is a little low but it's funny how fast some cars get smaller in the rear view wink.gif .... turbo ftw biggrin.gif ...
