OK. Im p*ssed. I got the 5sfe gearbox from a st184 and the cables from the st204..and after the 3s engine is in the stupid cables wont clip onto the gearbox's brackets..its like 3mm off....ARGHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can somebody confirm this discrepancies??? I thought all 5sfe cables and gearboxs can interchange...no??? Now i have to find an st204 gearbox or a pair of 184 cables...Even worse, sourcing these forbidden parts is a pain in the eyes.

Ok anyone who planning to do a auto to man conversion then take notice..what ever you do dont mix the parts up because they wont work with each others. I have:
204 shifter cables
184 tranny
204 shifter
after the tranny and the shifter are bolted I relised that i couldnt connect the 204 shifter cables to the 184 tranny...coz the cables holders from the 184 are thicker.
so i bought the 184 cables and this time i couldnt connect the cables to the shifter.

Really mad, p*ssed, angry.....now i have to look for the 204 tranny

Could have grind the cables holders from the 184 tranny to fit but Im affraid that they might snap since they made out of aluminium. TT

okay here are the pics to what i was saying.


Notice how the cable retainers are thick, the cables that i got woulnt clip in place cause the grooves are thinner...I've heard that the 204 gearbox retainers are thinner, well they're not. I went to the wrecker to day and found out that the 204 and 184 are exactly the same...LOL so much for false informations.

Conclusion: The guy who sold me the cables probabaly sold me the wrong ones..and he is one of the member on this site too.
