I was wondering about getting some dropsonze coilovers? If i get coilovers do i need new shocks and springs also? And how safe is it to lower the car?

"Drive Well......Drift Better"
ok a few things coilovers are shocks and springs as far as i know. there are springs for sale out there that have adjustable bits on the top and bottom of them some companys are calling these coilovers. i think there a bit of a laugh. another option is lowering springs with such a big car the best option is to upgrade your shocks when fitting lowering springs. droping a car is very safe its nice to know that if you come into a corner a bit too quick you have a better chance of making it. people will tell you cheaper ways but thats up to you. if you plan on ripping down the road at 150mph i wouldn advise you do it on a set a coilovers you got off ebay for $200. jus my opinion but never cheap out on suspension tyres brakes etc if you plan on driving fast there your last chance. this msg is gettin a bit long so bye
Do not buy any Adjusting Springs. They are a waste of money and are not meant for the drop people use. You are far better off buying some Teins or other proper drop spring and some Koni shocks.

Trust me, stock shocks with adjustable springs means you will bounce all day everyday when you drive. The steering wont feel to great either.

If you do decide to get these "coilovers" then best would be to get new shocks as well, such as the KYB GR2 shocks. These are an OEM alternative to the toyota shocks for a lower price. You will not need new springs, as these coilvers will replace them. I had this type of set up before i switched to my Tein Coilovers. I would recommend you just go straight to a real coilover system instead of getting the dropzone coilovers. The shocks in which these are mated with are not made to be used at such low ride height.
I have ground control coilovers and they're not bad, but I've decided that when I start my rebuild I'm getting some teins, (should have in the first place)

CLOSED on 25 acres!-shop coming soon....
dropzones are cheap i wouldn't get them, the ride will be horrible

how ever GROUND CONTROL is the best you can get for your car...you get to pick your own spring rates <----if you know what you are doing this is massively potent factor....if you don't you'll screw it all up
match them with a set of valved Koni Yellow Shocks and you will have an amazing setup...
Ground Control Coilovers = best mod I ever bought

GC coilovers+koni yellow combo is as if not better than tein basics.

and with that setup compared to tein basic, you can adjust the shocks as where on the tein basics you cant(you can only adjust the ride hide.

and liek stated above you get to pick your own spring rates, depending on what kind of driving your goign to be doing.
