offset help for a 17x7 wheel - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #51333 5 posts Started by phelon18
i've been looking at new wheels for the celica and found these:

rimstock

i preferred the team dynamics savage wheel, but in a charcoal colour.

the problem is that the supplier said the required offset for the celica is 48mm on a 17x7 wheel.
is this right? as i feel it would look too deep within the wheel arch.

My 17x7's are a 40mm offset and they look fine. 48 is pretty much the biggest offset I think you would want to go, otherwise you could start to rub.
I had +42 and it looked fine in the front, but needed spacers for the back. 7th gen wheels are +39 and is the best offset, but those are 6.5". I say shoot for something between +35 and +42 and you'll be fine.

thanks guys.

i was a bit confused because i first read the sticky for wheel offset and it suggested a 36mm offset for a 7" wheel width and then the supplier gave a completely different offset.

so if i go with the 38mm will i still need spacers for the rears?
Nope, 38 should be just fine, especially if you lower it thumbsup.gif
