Best 225 45 17 Tires - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #51226 13 posts Started by JoKeRkId613
I'm looking for new tires for my 17x7.5 rims. I want 225/45/17 tires. So far, I really like the Toyo Proxes 4 but I'm sure there are others out there that are better. Anyone know what the best ones are in this size in terms of specifications or personal experience? Money comes and goes so cost is not a concern. lol. Thanks in advance.
proxes 4 are all-seasons... you live in miami, take advantage of it and get summer tires! if you are looking for all-seasons though, yokohama advan s4 are the best, ive heard nothing but great reviews about that tire. i did a lot of research before buying my current tires.

s.4. info and comparison

but then again, i live in colorado. if i lived down there, i would get summer tires.

I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside.
Falken Azenis RT-615. You'll love them to death. Got my 235/40-17 for 160 CAN a piece. They'll last about 25,000km.

One o'dem crazy Canadian freaks, eh?
Cool. So what would be the best summer tires?
The popular summer tires;

Falken Azenis 615, Hankook Ventus, Toyo Proxes RA1, Kumho Ecsta MX

For a long life summer tire, Fuzion ZRi, Kumho Ecsta SPT.

Im in the market for 245/40/17 for my 17x8 o_O!
If moneys no big concern, try Toyo 888's

1994 JDM GT4 WRC
What about the ones Jeff (defgeph) has on his car? B.F.Goodrich G-Force KDW2 225/45/R17

guys, the "best" tire going is the best one you can afford.
lol
last time i needed a set, i bought michelin pilot sport A/S (all season)
.yes, they are pricey (~185$ea), but 1000X the grip and miles better ride quality than the 80$ea falkens i had been using. not to mention i would have already gone thru a set of falkens, and i still have ~50% treadwear left on the michelins.
its all about your pocketbook VS' how much grip Vs tire wear, IMO.
there is no 1 BEST tire for every person.

what if im rich? whats the best tire i can buy? lol.

i guess i was hoping there was 1 best tire in terms of specs or something. because there are so many specs on tires that it's hard to compare and see the best one, especially since not 1 tire place carries every single tire there is.
im running nittos and i loooove them but mine are 225/45/zr18's

BOOST GETS YOU LAID!!!!
Joker, check out the specs, reviews and ratings on Tirerack. The amount of information is staggering and it is very well organized.

BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2/BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW nt

have them on my Xb and my rabbit but not my celica yet, awesome grip wet and dry, good wear and they look killer
I would recommend Bridgestone RE01-R, Advan Neova AD07, or Toyo R1R tires.
