I may sound a little crazy. Has anyone thought of putting a 3sgte engine into a rav 4

this is performance data of a 97 rav4

Base Number of Cylinders: 4 Base Engine Size: 2 liters
Base Engine Type: Inline 4 Horsepower: 120 hp
Max Horsepower: 5400 rpm Torque: 125 ft-lbs.
Max Torque: 4600 rpm Maximum Towing Capacity: 1500 lbs.
Drive Type: AWD Turning Circle: 33.5 ft.

Thats a 3S-FE engine. There a few 3S-GTE RAV4's out there. Can't find any pics of it though.

The FWD M/T Rav4 has an E153 attached to the late 3s-fe... Little known fact.

nice to know but if i do start this project I will like it to be a Rav4 GT4

I think the awd tranny that i got on the 3sgte engine will also fit

i thought some of the jdm rav 4 came with the black top 3sge vvt-i....

Interesting idea, it seems like the center of gravity would be to high for a good rally
vehicle. For just off roading I would prefer the torque of the 5s.

would be kinda cool, but I have always hated the looks of the early rav4's, very useless as an suv, on the other hand I have always liked the early crv's and have seen a few with b18's etc.

some do..but only in Japan.

I have a video some where on my old comp of a 4wd 3SGTE powered Rav 4 2door hardtop thats running a 4thgen 3S in it thats pushing like 400 and change HP. The thing launches like a taller version of Tufy's car.

i gotta figure out what comp its on. Its on either my old tower that i have to get cleaned up or on my old laptop that has issues charging/staying on. Ill take a look around though. It was some dudes in Russia who did the swap.

EDIT: i did a quick google search and found this guy who lives in "Mauritius"? who has a flat black 2nd gen 3S powered rav4.
