Need Advice For My New Mods - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #50169 2 posts Started by EuroFire03
I just finished installing a Cold Air Intake and a full exhaust system (headers all the way to muffle) The thing is that I had a K&N regular filter before and I decided to make a CAI. The tubing is about the same but I hadta make 3 90degree bends to fit it. Now the car seems to be less responsive with the throttle.

IS it better to just stick with the normal Air Intake (K&N) or is the CAI better? COULD the problem also be a need of a performance ECU?

PLEASE HELP ME OUT I WANNA GET MY CELI ROLLING PROPER! Gotta stick it to those Acura's at the Dragz

Car is a 97 ST Hatchback Automatic 7A-FE

Cars shouldn't be sold for money, but driving skill =P
well, its not to much bends that could be causing the sluggishness. i noticed with the intake that the shorter it is, the more responsive..

YOU DO NOT need a performance ecu. it would be too much of a hassel for the mods you have. advance your timing to 15* btdc, use 91 octane, check your oxygen sensors, clean throttle body, run sea foam through it, and reset the ECU. these are the things i did that made a noticeable difference in my ST
