What amp for these subs? - 6G Celicas Forums

OK well i have made the decsion that im getting 2 Audiobahn DUB1000 10" 1000W Dual 4-Ohm Subwoofers.
heres the specs:

MY QUESTION:what amp should i get for these?I plan on getting 2 6.5"/8" dub speakers for the doors down the line,the cureent audio system is all stock..

this is the one you want with the coils in parallel as well as the subs...
1ohm = 1200 watts/2 is 600 watts a sub
you're going to have to redo your entire electrical system for those subs
new battery, alternator if you can find one, 0/1 gauge wire, grounded back to the battery not the trunk... capacitor, the whole deal
any other good name amp company too with the same specs will work but you want 1200w at 1 ohm, do not exceed that! JL, Crossfire, JBL are all great amps to look for... i recommend ED but i've used others as well for installs

why can i not exceed one ohm?and what about this amp,how many channels should it be if im jsut powering the subs?Also can i run my aftyermarket speakers off teh stock amp?Where is teh stock amp located?

cannot exceed 1200watts at one ohm is what i'm saying... more than 1200 watts and you'll run risk of blowing the subs.... that amp is a one channel amp... to get that kinda power you will want to use a one channel amp or you'll pay dearly for a two channel amp to power those subs right... so you'll only be able to power the subs off of it, ST's do not have a separate amp like GT's do, its built into the head unit with the four 6.5 speakers.... and puts out roughly 15watts per speaker or 4 channels
