wow dude. i bought the bearing two seals. tie rod, lower ball joint. cv boot (and grease), and cotter pins for just over $150. like i said go to a parts place, not a dealership!

parts place couldn´t say for sure would theyre item fit the GT4. thats exactly I´d like to hear the measures!

320hp @ 6300rpm and 420Nm @ 3250rpm. yay!My ST205 WRC buildthread

Make sure and double check all of your part numbers, I bought new hub bearing and seals from my local toyota dealership.
He didn't ask if it was ABS or not and ordered me the ABS version of the seal and dustcover, apparently the guy pressed in
the new bearing and hub didn't see the new dustcover is a 1/4 in taller, and it binds up when you tighten the axle nut.

The PN for the ABS version seal kit is 04422-20080 and it will not work on a non ABS celica.

you sure?? i have an abs kit on my left side and non-abs kit on my right. both work perfect, the abs kitted side has a cut out on the retaining ring for the supposed abs sensor.

I don't normally drive fast, but when I do its on a curvy section of this island
I have an ABS on my passenger side and didn't seem to have any problems.
Unless the guy distorted it when he pressed it in, my dust cover doesn't clear the outer axle, when I tighten the axle it binds when I removed the dustcover and tighten it, it spins free. The abs version is twice as tall as the non.

Edit: You do not have an ABS dust cover without an ABS axle. The non ABS has a notch, the ABS version has a small slot and is twice as tall.

The non ABS axle has 2 rings one that goes inside the dust cover, and one that sits just outside the dust cover closer to the tranny, it acts like a cap and is a larger diameter than the other, if you have an ABS dust cover it won't clear the larger ring on a non ABS axle, it sticks out too far and hits, I am going to need see pics.

Yeah bro. Timkens the way to go if it's not oem. Nothing less or it won't last.

Edit: and yeah that's the seal haha.

I might order from the dealer. From the dealer the bearing is about $80, but I'll get that at autozone. The seals come together (inner and outer) so I'll order those from the dealer and they're about $30

I don't understand what you mean, I have an abs hub and it works fine, the only difference I could see was there was a tab where the abs connects to it but without abs it leaves a little hole.
i need someone in the Fresno area who can help me change my WB....anyone in for the fun?

Egg, how did you take out the bearing...and what did you use to press it out and press it in?

>the wheel bearing for both superstrut and mcpherson suspension are the same. in fact, celicas since 86 as well as most corolla's and camry's share the same wheel bearings.
part number: 90369-38003-77

Is this the same part number for the wheel bearing for JDM models? If not anyone know what the part number is for the JDM GT4 6GC?
all 94-99 Celica use the same front wheel bearings and seals.

on another note. I'm not getting a loud squeeling or howling noise as speed increases. Installed both front timken wheel bearings a year ago and have accumulated 10,000 miles since. Now my front right tire has play. I had both torn outer cv axles and drove my car for a while like that. Since all the grease came out it pretty much tore up my wheel bearing/hub.

>>When I go over bumps or holes in the ground the front right tire makes a popping/clunking noise. How to diagnose if its the hub?>>

>A few weeks ago I had to replace my wheel bearing so i decided to take a few pictures and do a write up of what i did. It was an easy project which took about an hour to take off, hour to put back on. Youll probably have to wait longer for the machine shop to do the pressing. These steps are good for either side in the front. I only replaced the pass. side so thats all i have here: (please bare with me its my first how to tongue.gif )

Hi thanks for this write up btw, just currently in the process of replacing my wheel bearing but struggling to get the 2 nuts and bolt off the lower control arm. I'm thinking I might have to snap them out but how would I go about replacing them. Seems to be no P/N but don't look standard nuts/bolts to me although they are very rusted it makes it hard to tell.

Wondering if you (or anyone else) knows the size of these so I would feel better snapping them off? Don't want to do it then end up not being able to replace them.
