ok, well it seems easy enough... i don't care for it on this car since this car is going to be the fun weekend car etc....

can i just unplug the cruise ecu and remove the cable linkage and pull out the cruise control unit? mine doesn't work anyways.. so i'd rather remove it than fuss with it.

I removed the cruise actuator which was located under the battery, the cable, the stick off the steering wheel. I've never seen a "cruise ecu" unless you mean the actuator.

the cruise ECU is under the dash, to the right of the glove box. It's a pain to get to for removal so just leave it and get the stuf Erik said

actually the cruise ecu is hanging down on the floor right now i never found where it mounted up there so its dangling down from behind the glovebox hahaha

so its safe to:
-unplug cruise ecu
-remove actuator and cable
-remove stick control..

none of that will have an effect on anything important correct?

I would think so. I never saw that ecu so I left it in there.

Correct. Actually, the only bit that 'interfaces' with the engine is the actuator. So you would only need to remove the actuator and cable to disable cruise control. However, it would be best to unplug the cruise ECU also as it interfaces with the main ECU and could flag up error codes if it detects an error. With the cruise ECU unplugged, the stick control isn't connected to anything so removal of that is optional.
