3.55 for 91 round here. Sucks! although from the looks of it, it could be worse. frown.gif

yeah cali sucks, and we dont get 93 octane like most other places.

I never realised how low the octane ratings of your gas were in North America - in the UK they start at 95, then you have "super unleaded" at 97 and then there's Shell who do a 97 one and BP do 102 octane fuel but that's very expensive - about £15 a gallon or something wink.gif

UNless you use a different system to the UK - we use RON - what do you guys use?

i think the method in the us is called the R+M method or some crap like that. yeah in cali its even worse, the best we get is 91 most other states in the us get 93 as premium.

I guess that and your stricter emissions tests are why people in the UK always look at the size of US stock engines and go "How on earth did the manufacturer get such a small amount of bhp out of them" - you learn something new every day biggrin.gif

and that another thing, what the difference between BHP brake horse power and just saying it has XXX HP? what does B in BHP even really mean?

Brake horsepower (bhp) is the measure of an engine's horsepower without the loss in power caused by the gearbox, generator, differential, water pump, and other auxiliary components. Thus the prefix "brake" refers to where the power is measured: at the engine's output shaft, as on an engine dynamometer. The actual horsepower delivered to the driving wheels is less. An engine would have to be retested to obtain a rating in another system. The term "brake" refers to the original use of a band brake to measure torque during the test (which is multiplied by the engine RPM and a scaling constant to give horsepower).

oh ok, i guess its kinda the same then when some1 says its make XXX hp at the crank. so its just the HP number the engine makes, as opposed to the HP to the tires.

Yep that's what I have always understood it to be - but then I'm usuall wrong about most things laugh.gif
about $3.66 in tacoma for mid grade. took $44 to fill my subaru that was ner empty. I average about 27.8 mpg (most highway) (mildly agressive driving)
I do not think many countries would be able to top Cyprus.
Price of petrol just increase. 0,58 Cyprus pounds per liter. By my calculations that's just above US$6 per gallon.

The UK certainly can though - $9 per US Gallon for super plus unleaded frown.gif
About 1euro/Lt at the moment for 95 octane. It was down to .85euro/Lt at the beginning of the year.
i just got 87 for $3.05
87 octane for $3.09 this morning. This afternoon it'll probably be $3.19 since it seems to go up 10 cents a day lately. F'in gas companies! mad.gif

Amsterdam prices? Let's see...

1.42 euro's per liter regular unleaded fuel (RON95).
1 US gallon = 3.7854118 liters
That's 5,37 euro's for a gallon
Amounts to $7,23 a gallon.

Mind you, this is at a discount gas station (unmanned)
On the highway it would be 1.50 euro's per liter.
