CF hood quality - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #48161 25 posts Started by mr_dude
I've seen some nice looking carbon fiber and some nasty, faded, flimsy fiber.

It looks like the options are:
Seibon
ViS
Erebuni
Nopi (someone else relabelled?)

Can anyone testify to the:
1. Weave quality - tightness and squareness
2. Resin quality - clarity or fogginess and bubbles
3. Number of layers
of any of these parts? Thanks.
i'd only get a hood from vis. never heard anyone complain about the quality. and not quite sure, but i think vis is the only company that makes cf hoods with the latch and what-not. all the others require hood pins.

ss-iii splitters and 404 skirts areon. which means i need to update my sig.
here's pix of my Varis CF ST205 hood from bulletproof automotive.

i have a ViS cf invader hood. its hazing pretty bad. trying to look for a good fiberglass wax for it.....
VIS is ok typical stuff....fiberglass core CF outter layer, occasional weave problem.
SEIBON is remarked to have great quality in theirs
and VARIS > a lot

Paid $900 for it but waited 6 months because it had to be hand laid and everything.

i wonder why there isn't a company that has made the gt4 hood without the bulge so it will fit us american celis. cf or not i would love to get my hands on one. i guess i will have to stick to the c-one style if i ever can afford one. kindasad.gif

Call me a traitor! See if I care. ;)
My man this hood is Paradise! And also the price is good for that hood! We wait for photos..

The little hump next to the center vent..some people also refer it to as the hump it self on the middle of the hood(not the little hump next to the vent). If you look from it sideways, st205 have the hump on the hood but the non-st205 doesn't have it. So basically the middle of the st205 hood is rise up. If that helps.

So because of this little hump... the hood won't fit on a standard 202 chassis???

it fits, i really dont know what they are talking about, however there will be a gap between the bumper and hood where the hump is.
And is this remedied with a gt-4 bumper? If so I really have nothing to worry about, lol.
