Very simple: big turbo, good IC, built engine, head, cam, valve job, intake manifold, 3"+ exhaust, good clutch, 1600cc/min injectors and thing to control them (a.k.a. standalone ecu) Believe it or not, you can get away with stock exhaust manifold. AFAIK, there are at least 10 people pushing ~600hp or more at the crank with 3sgte. Most of them use 2nd gen with stroker kit. Some are using 5S block (most on MR2). All of them have standalone ecu.
