New springs installed... :) - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #48069 17 posts Started by malpaso
At last have bought lowering springs... ehm... lowering... drop 0.9" front and 0.6" back biggrin.gif but higher spring rates (20% - 30% over stock). Everything plug and play. Like OEM installation smile.gif.

Funny, my car looks exactly the same or maybe is even raised now laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif (seems my old stock springs were really, really tired)...

i wanna c what they look like after they settel. Your the first person ive seen on the site whos used Tanabe springs.
my springs didn't look lowered after installation either. but now it looks much better. i hear tanabe makes good springs. that should add a lil more fun to your 7afte.

ss-iii splitters and 404 skirts areon. which means i need to update my sig.
i see the install went fairly easy. smile.gif

they will settle in a week or two of normal driving, thats about how long it took mine to settle, but you have a higher spring rate so...?

How do they feel in comparison to your stock springs?

THE STUFFS FOR SALE!
nice....
did you replace the shocks/struts as well?
good photoshop too

DSToyo: nope... just springs (according to manufacturer's instruction they should be used with OEM shocks).
airfron: I have ones with 3.5/3.0 kg/mm spring rate (stock should have something like 2.9/2.3 and I believe your DF ones has 3.1/2.8). So I believe it would be the same like yours...
j0e_p3t: biggrin.gif that is my aim. Feel more grip wink.gif and drop just a little...
Valo666: me too biggrin.gif, however I'm at least number 2 here (sphinx leads wink.gif)
manphibian: I don't need drive off road and meet this kindasad.gif

that's why I just did not want to drop my car too low... However I didn't know my car was already lowered by stock springs biggrin.gif

I'm afraid it is... It's the middle of road not roadside or something and pic is two months old. See this article named "25 percent of Czech roads in bad condition" mad.gif

^geez, hitting that would ruin your day! mad.gif
glad you got them in Martin

They will settle a bit and after about a week or so the car will be lower than it is right now, just be patient.

also, be prepared to replace your old struts in a few months wink.gif

i used tanabe springs also and the drop is not that much if at all... can any one ealse comfirm this? and why you don't get a good drop with there springs???
When I first bought my TRD springs and lowered the jacks little by little, I was like whoah whoah thats too low. After a while I began to realize that they don't look low anymore. So I bought Intrax suspension because like they say "Lower is Better".

my tanabe's are low enough that i cant fit a regular jack under the side of the car. i have to either jack up the front first or use the wimpy one that came with the car and twist it up until i can fit a regular jack under it. it might not look really low but it is definitely a lot lower than stock because it was never a problem before.

If talking about Tanabes, there are more ways to drop than my 0.9"/0.6". airfron has springs with 2.2"/1.5" drop so it's more than double in comparison with my ones. I'll post pics of my old OEM springs and you all will understand why nothing has changed wink.gif
