I recently purchased a used speedometer cluster.
it has about 40,000 more miles than the old one. the old one is completely unusable.
is there a way i can change the milage on the new cluster, without having to do it with a flathead, mile by mile.
any simpler way.
running it in reverse on blocks would be adding miles while rewinding the odometer, which is definately not what i want.
let me know what you guys think

Why not taking it to a repair shop. I dont know if it would be completely legit. You would have to disclose if you ever sell the car though. If you have papers from a shop it will be better. My best guess is get on with the number of miles closer to what youve got...

I got the same problem too, the new one was abt 100kms more than my old one, I used one of the needle and slooooowly move the last left digit 1 down...just take your time here and dont use the flathead screwdriver coz it can damage the white printed number...or if you want and can open the panel and pull the odometer out and try to fix it somehow, i think its easier that way.
.....not sure if the needle will work, mine worked bcoz i only need to move the last left number which is easier than moving the second last. I think that rotator are held by two levers, oh well..... try it and see how it goes.
