Loose A - Arm - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #47797 2 posts Started by qatar11
So I have a 6G That I was going to get back on the road so I can get rid of my POS SVT Focus (which is for a different rant). The reason I bought the fukkus is because the Celica had a loose A-Arm as a result of some bad judgment in "speeding up" the process of a clutch replacement.

Basically We tried to remove the A-Arm from the sub frame as opposed to taking the knuckle apart to remove the drive axle. At some point in backing out the bolt that holds the A-Arm to the sub frame (also the hinge point) the nut that I assume is welded inside the sub frame busted loose and the bolt is now extremely loose and the entire A-Arm can float 2 - 4" in many unfriendly directions. This of course has resulted in a lot of angry noise and 4 destroyed tires if you try to drive on it.

I just want a few other people to confirm that I am in fact up ****s creek and I will tear out the front end and get my ST205 conversion started up...

So take a look at these pics so you can see the problem area in question

mike, you'll need to cut and re-weld the nut in place, if you can.
