Summer is here in Tahoe and I am about to get my Celica back. I have a few upgrades i will be getting, one of them being a cai and getting rid of my sr. I was wondering if i would need/want to get a bypass valve for the rainy days or if it is unnecessary. (or if i should change at all).
People with cai experience any recommendations?

i would deffinitely recommend a bypass valve on your cai. you dont necessarily need one, but its just extra assurance that if you do go through a puddle, your engine wont suck up anything you dont want in there. i have allways used a bypass valve. however, if it doesnt rain/or if you dont drive in the rain, then its not really necessary.

Get the CAI for looks and bragging rights but you won't feel any differences over a good SRI. Oh and def get a bypass valve. I accidently sucked up water on the stock CAI setup - not fun.

I have one on mine... but I do live in Washington where it rains 364 days out of the year. My CAI is routed a lot differently than a lot of people on here. My filter is essentially sitting on the plastic underbody guard... and I'm lowered.

I think it is a wise investment to make. You might think you won't need it, but if there ever is a time where you have a lot of water on the road, you're going to be happy it is there.
