quick offset question - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #47685 15 posts Started by QuintinGT
Im looking at a set of wheels and they are 17x8 et 35 i have a lowered car. the offest guide recomends an et 0f 40 for those specs. I was wondering, I will probably be rolling my rear fenders, would that allow that size of wheel to fit?

Hi. You should be fine. I have bought a set of 18s 7.5 width and 45 offset. They sit too much inside. I'm looking to get 10mm front spacers and 20mm rear. That would make the offset 35 and 25.

You can go further outside, even on the lowered car, but might need to fold the arches.

Hope that helps!

25MM offset would stick out a great deal. I hope you put on 10mm spacers for the rear.

A Celica is a Celica. They didn't make them longer or wider than what everyone else has. Jap spec or not, it would run flush at ~ +35.

true flush on celica with 8 in wide wheels is +30 front and +28 rear... i know cause that is what my car is set at after hours of mesuring... wink.gif
I had 8" wheels on my Celi when I bought it and they were all +35

If Celica was just a Celica, then u wdn't have all these differences in power, suspension build, electronics, etc.

Dimensions,
Length 4425 mm or 174".
Width 1725 mm or 67.9", mirror to mirror.
Height 1305 mm or 51".
Facelift 1995-on Width 1750mm.

Jap Spec
10 mm longer,
25 mm wider

A Celica is a Celica - the only difference is the engine and suspension on some (macpherson - SS) The body of the Celica is all uniform in width and length. It would have cost Toyota a fourtune to produce all one way, and all Jap spec .39" longer and .98" wider. They are all the same dimensions, sorry you feel differently.

The page you have requested could not be found.

Its illogical to produce the same car a few millimeters in difference.

The facts weren't posted by me and to access the page you have to register with a UK forum.

I didn't measure the car. But, I know for a fact that UK, Jap and other factories have production lines specifically set for the needs of the country’s population. Thus, is the difference. It would be cheaper to make all cars with same engines and in black colour...

It is hypocritical to deny one difference when there are so many others tongue.gif

P.S. I'm not trying to be rude btw, just defending my point smile.gif

I suppose you should get on the blower to Toyota and ask them, if you think they made some Celicas less than an inch wider and less than half an inch longer.

Enjoy!
