95 st what swap is recomended? - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #47414 8 posts Started by boosted95
I cant decide on a swap for my 95 st. What are my options, and what are their benifits along with their shortcomeings? I had the 91 MR2 3sgte in mind, or a 4agze. ...About anything would be better than the 7afe that ive outgrown after driveing it just over 4 months*

poopra sellout... 88targa, 50trim ct, 383lsd, and shreadin tires like its my job!!!QUOTE (RUNNIN-LOW @ Feb 17, 2009 - 1:53 PM)buying a rusty car is like dating a girl with a bush! if u like it like that go for it.. :D if u can repair and make it look better then its all the better for u!...
hey dude, i'm in cincinnati. we should catch up sometime, but i'm probably going 5sfTe in my 95 st. biggest reason being my friend is giving me a 5sfe and matching tranny for free, and the couple other options are just super complicated. the other options being the 3sgte (gt four and all-trac 2.0 turbo engines) the 4age (1.6L high compression, corolla engine) the 4agze (1.6L supercharged corolla engine) or the 3sge (mr2 2.0L engine, kinda like the 3sgte only Not turbo'd). It all depends on how much u want to spend and how much custom work u wanna have done or want to do. there are a bunch of sticky's on here about engines and turbo's u might check them out. lata

proud =3sgte SWAPPED= '95 Celica ST owner [calling it the GT2 or half-trac]309,000 miles n' ....dead-> ALIVE AGAIN!! ~14,000 miles driven

Past: V6 Swapped 6G Celica, E46 BMW M3, Jeep Wrangler TJCurrent: 850rwhp C6 Corvette Grandsport, Gen1 6.2L Ford Raptor
4AGE Silvertop: Cheap, disappointing performance
4AGE Blacktop: Good price, good performance
4AGZE: More expensive to install, lots of torque, great for turbo conversions
3SGTE: Most expensive, best performance, unlimited potential
V6 Swap: Around same price a 3SGTE or more depending on engine choice, great power and torque, very reliable.

Stock, at the wheels:

Silvertop 120hp 100tq
Blacktop 145hp 130tq
4AGZE 145hp 145tq
3SGTE 190hp 200tq

Those are pretty close estimates.
