should i make my 5SFE to a 5SFTE?? i have 154,000 miles and its not abused and i only drive to work, and friends houses and rarely school 5 min away....i learned how to do the whole turboing my 5SFE, and its cheaper and easier than gettin a GT4 clip and swappin parts....i at least want 270 h.p. with a 5SFE, i heard its possible, but how much potential can i have on moddin my engine??
in your honest opinion, should a mod and turbo my engine since im low on cash, or GT4 clip and have all that chaos?
if you want at least 270hp, then do the swap
with 154,000 miles, that motor is probally pretty worn. U can debate beating on it till your blue in the face, but at 154,000 boosting it will probally cause u more problems then its worth.
Presure2 swaped out his 5sfe for a 5sfe with lower mileage b4 he boosted it....maybe u could do the same?
if not
+1 for the 3sgte swap

I think 270 WHP is achievable with a 5sfte. presure2 made 235. if you did all the mods he did plus cams, plus turn the boost up a couple PSI higher you would probably get there. but at 154K, you might blow the motor with all that boost. I say, if your goals are around 200-250 then turbo, if more, swap.

swap. either for another 5s or a 3s if you want more hp.
ss-iii splitters and 404 skirts areon. which means i need to update my sig.
buy my 5s so i can drop a beams in!
how much for your 5S engine if your serious? lol
i boosted mine when it was 130k miles. and it's still running strong. used to be daily driven and seeing 12lbs of boost every once in awhile.

it's all bout condition of motor, metal head gasket is important, building the 5sfte right and of course tuning.

Manny did 235WHP @ 13ish ? psi
That's right around 270 CHP , you know that ?
150k miles is high, do an OEM rebuild if you're serious
new piston rings, bottom end bearings, oil pump , water pump , timing belt , head gasket, valve stem seals
it would probably be cheaper to buy a low milage used 5sfe and turbo it on an engine stand and just swap it in later...

swap..when i turboed my 420a it was the biggest pain in the ass...I will never ever turbo a non turbo car again, unless i have the money and time...which it sounds like you dont. The only thing 5sfte has on the 3s is torque, which i happen to love
Now SR powered
ok thank you...ill start lookin around for clips now
i am actually think bout doin the same thing bout boost;n my 5s but everyone seems to be right around here i say either do the swap or buy another engine that might be cheaper and better than a rebuild thats my route low mile engine then boosting plus if u buy a new engine u can connect alot of parts on it before u drop it in ur car.....
