Topic #46942 41 posts Started by 96c-oneconv
Well I think it's time for a paint job on the vert. I plan on doing this sometime this fall. I love my car in black, but when come down to keeping it clean it's almost impossible. Anyways here a few of my choices let me know what you think. Keep in mind this is my first with photoshop. What would you do.

-i would love to see the conversion too if he shows it tongue.gif
-kingshaz and soundslut are two with custom headlights...if thats what you mean?

not quite. i just mean taking off the stock lense and putting a crystal clear lense on them. kinda har to explain i guess.

charcoal
seriously, stay black. (i understand its not one of the choices...but black is classic)

i would change the particular shade a bit, but yea, charcoal would look sweet on a celica..somthing with a course metallic.

Charcoal looks good.... Im actually thinking of painting my black vert to a nickle or maybe metallic dark gray.....

Ya I'm really thinking of keeping it black, but also leaning toward the charcoal.
What do you think of this:

Charcoal w/carbon fiber hood

In all honesty, I dont see the need for a new paintjob. although it is hard to keep clean, the paint on it stil looks like its in mint condition.

The paint is in excellent condition it's just had to keep it that way. I've got swirls in it right now, maybe once I detail it next week I might change my mind. It sat in the garage all winter and still got dirty. It's really frustrating especially since i detailed it before stored it.
man just leave it black, looks really good the way it is now
i vote black.. your vert is badass!! and those other colors kinda look like screens from need for speed or somthing
i would say spend that money on some performance...but it looks like you already got that covered biggrin.gif biggrin.gif amazing car.
keep black or red...

No more replicas... This is evolution... This isSS-four:)________[Featured Celica of 6gc.net @ 2010]_________
>>>>>>Leave it Black, the paint still look great.

Save that money for Projectors, curren tail and clear sidemarker. Maybe a 5th Gen bullet mirror, CF Hood.

I might removed the stocked wing, wingless might looks better.>

Keep it Black or Charcoal
i say paint it gun metal...lol..or midnight purple. Do something you dont see very often. But i would say if you do repaint the car, get rid of the chromes man. I dont think chromes suit our cars to much. I say gunmetal or midnight purple...and if you do gun metal..colour code the rims..or even midnight purple.
no midnight purple please,

my choices would be

charcoal
yellow
red

on that order

Here is the midnight purple

midnight purple is darker than that man..its almost black with a purple pearl...if it was a bit darker, it would b hot.
I agree, your car looks amazing as is. I also have a 6th gen vert - now black but originally white. It is so true that black is impossible to keep looking clean without multiple washings/day. When mine is washed it looks great, but any dust or rain and it starts to show spots. Of the options you posted my vote is yellow. I guarantee that it will look hot and turn heads (not that it doesn't already). Also you might want to compare your colors to the top when it's up, Midnight Purple might clash with your solid black top.

I know this thread isn't about me but I'd like some input pls. My current problem is that my black vert is now chipping and is showing white near the undercarriage. I'm getting it painted next week and need to decide now: 1) keep it black, 2) return to original color - white, or 3) spend more money and go metallic silver - which my wife and I both agree would look incredible.

Guy at the autobody shop says its better to go back to original color = better resale value and more "accurate". Sure, but I'm not planning to sell her anytime soon!

Please help with opinions.

<new to forum will post pictures soon>
