I notice my gearbox seems noisier, especially in 3rd and 4th. I already run top quality synthetic 75w 90 gear oil, there is no apparent wear - ie no metal filings on the magnet on the drain plug.
Just wonderin if anybody has noticed anything similar and had a solution. (The synthetic oil did quieten it a bit.)

when you replace your gear oil, how did you replace it?

We complained to Toyota at the cars 45,000Klm service about the gearbox noise. Toyota replace the clutch plate & various components for free under the warranty as this is a common fault.
We have done over 100,000klm now & the noise is returning but not as loud as the first time.
Some thick quality gear oil has made it quieter. No much you can do unless you replace parts

The cheapest way to fix it is put your radio up louder....
