Spacers - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #45903 19 posts Started by snapshotgt
This is a thread for those how have had first hand experience with spacing out GTS rims. Wondering what you're using SIZE wise, and what you would recommend SIZE wise to make a flush, but functional setup with 50/55 tires (sidewall).

H&R spacers of course…

My current thought would be 5mm spacers, but would like to hear from people that have had first hand experience.

Please post pictures if possible.

Thanks-

I made my own 1/4" spacer.. using 225/55/16's .. 7th gen rims of course.. 1/4" is a cunt hair over 6mm. A thicker spacer would be nicer though.. I'd say more like 1/2" .. however, 1/4" is nice.. plus you don't need to do anything with the studs.

No matter what size i go with, i will be buying H&R spacers --> don't want to screw around with something so crucial.

GTS rims are 39mm offset correct?

What do you mean something so crucial? You do realize that a 1/4" spacer does not require anything to be done with the lugs right? The only thing a 1/4" spacer will be is a round piece of machined steel or aluminum and 5 holes drilled in it... I don't care what brand you go with.. it's not like I'm selling them.. Just want ya to know that a spacer that thin is nothing special at all.

H&R spacers are hubcentric, precision engineered, and have unrivaled fit.

there was a guy on here with a white celica that had 7th gen rims with spacers that looked really good. i think he was using a 15 or 25m spacer. try searching the members profiles.

i wouldnt bother with a 5m. it wont make much of a difference, and like punisher said, with a sparer that small, it really doesn't matter much what you use. even pepboys stocks 5m spacers. but if you go with a 15 or 25m, thats when you really want a quality spacer.

15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned
you would have to re-torque spacers every 100-200 miles or so.
I've driven ~2,000 or more miles with 16mm spaced in the rear , 5mm spaced in the front.....i've never retorque....and its the same

ok back on topic

what size spacers are ideal for 7th gen 16" GTS wheels ?

my st205 swapandour Beams swap
the wheels are 6.5 wide and have a 39mm offset with 205/50/16 tires.

http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=32534

according to that,

(6.5/2)*25.4-(39-x)=74, would need a 30mm spacer for standard ride

(6.5/2)*25.4-(39-x)=63, would need a 20mm spacer for lowered ride

I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside.

Did you get that little bit from their website? Good luck finding a hubcentric 5mm spacer.
The "ideal" spacer really depends on what look you are going for.. and also tire size. a 5mm spacer will clear 225/55/16 in the rear.. nothing larger.

The front doesn't need a spacer for that size.

yeah I saw that. So 15mm spacers should be more than acceptable, just not out as far as the 20mm. OK.

Okay.. question... not to hijack or anything, but my 17X7 rims have an offset of +42. I want to at least get the rear more flush, so which size spacer should I look into?

(7/2)*25.4-(42-x)=63, x=16.1, so i would get a 15mm spacer

Do we even actually NEED the spacers? Or did you want them just for the flush look?
I run 16" 7th gen gts rims with the standard tire (205/50/16?).

spacers are just for the flush look.
I have 7th gen rims with 205/50/R16's

And...

I have Ichiban 15mm spacers up front and 20mm spacers in the back, they are installed and look a little sunk with my stock 14" wheels. But it should look almost exactly flush on my lowered car. I dont know yet though because, as i said, im on 14" winter stealies right now tongue.gif
