I have read two articles that say the the speakers in both doors are 6.5" and are housed in a 8"hole.I want to know if this is true before i start tearing the door apart.

take it from someone who has torn his door apart and is currently waiting to put it back togather after he can build a stupid mount... yes it is indeed bigger than 6.5" the speakers in there nor are 6.5' but they have a huge metal ring around them that makes them fit into the bigger hole
^ same i got JL speakers in and i checked it out and there is a giant gap in between

its only the front speakers though, the backs fit fine
I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside.

It depends on what sound system came stock.
I have the 8 speaker premium sound, It comes with stock 8" speakers in the door.
You can put an 8" speaker in the door, just make sure you get one that doesnt require an actual sub box, since the sound will suck and they tend to have larger magnets.

Not just the 8 speaker came with 8" speakers in the doors. Mine are also 8"s and I only have 6 speakers. You are going to have to take your door off to see what you got. There were several options.
Mines like a somewhat premium sound LOL. I got the amp and the 8s and tweets but not the 7th and 8th speakers. I've actually only ever seen them on verts and I heard the company that did the verts also added those speakers. Don't know how true that is though.

Interesting... I learn something new every day....
I was told that the 8 speaker setup has 2 amps... but I have only been able to see 1 factory amp in here....
Either way... Im upgrading eerything except my head unit within the next 6 months....
