New Featured Ride! - 6G Celicas Forums

as the title goes.. maybe its time for a new featured ride! i dont want to hog up being a featured ride. theres alot more 6s out there can take the new place.

no offense but i think i've been on it too long. just want to share the love. thank you coomer for the opportunity wink.gif -R

Yeah maybe, but I have always thought the person who gets the featured ride title should be someone who has actively participated on the forums. Someone who has given time to helping others here... And they have to have a sweet Celica. This HARDTARGET guy just joined on the 20th.. 8 days later and you're all singing praise... because its a non-street legal drag car? Come on.

It is featured ride, not featured member.... but I don't really care who gets it

Why? The car speaks for itself and obviously he's had it for a while. Doing all of that with out the help of people on this board all shows he has skills to contribute to this site.

who cares if he posts here or not. half the people that have been voted for feature ride dont even post here anymore. if a cars worthy of the title, then thats all that matters

Many people. Batman has a real nice celica and contributes a large amount here. Def also. There are two examples off the top of my head.

Too true. Not gonna argue with that. I still think the new guy should get his 15mins but perhaps not before some of those guys.

I dont support this new guy primarily because people lie on the internet and who knows if this is for real.

Also: Not sure if moderators are allowed to be Featured, so Jeff would be SOL.
*Manny was Featured but I think it was before he was a moderator.

I don't wanna be an ass, but I'm not comfortable seeing a new member with no post, no respond, no "hi", gets on featured ride that we don't even for sure that it's really his car.

i'm with 95celica on this. featured ride is for those with well done cars + contribute i believe. if you look at all the names of everyone who's had it, all have added to the forum in some way or another-either now or before. this person just joined, not even an introduction thread, and all his pics are from websites. this just leads to no real evidence of it even being his car. i'm not doubting, but there are a lot of people on the internet and people do some things for attention.

just my opinion, not arguing.

EDIT: just seen tom's post-i left the page up ready to comment but that was like an hour ago so it never refreshed haha.

just an idea ,
why not we all look through the profiles, select 5 maybe 10 of the best looking and modded rides and then name the owners then perhaps a moderator could pick 5 of the best modded or best looking cars and setup a poll for us members to have a vote.
perhaps the end of voting should be in a weeks time and then the winner of the poll should be ride of the month, and the other rides should follow on a monthly base dependin on how many votes they get...
like i said just an idea...

I like that idea. I don't necessarily think the cars need to be overly modded though. Sometimes just a clean Celica is worthy of note. IDK most of my favorite cars have already been featured.
I also agree that it is entirely possible that the new guy could be fooling us. I retract my earlier statements.

i thought that would be the most civil way of doin things...
as for mods or no mods, i agree , as long as the car looks real good , it doesnt have to be modded at all....
so come on lads and lasses, post suggestions on which cars we should include in the poll..

I disagree - partly.

I can see unmodded celicas all over; for a car to be Featured I believe it needs to be worthy of going out of my way to look at.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that it should be the "driver's own" if that makes any sense.

I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside.

Well Super and P5ycho you guys both have very nice cars. Super in particular I like the way your hood [I have that same scoop at my house but I decided not to use it cause you already did - mines from Caldina GT4!] and paintjob look. Malpaso's car has also undergone a couple of interesting changes - SS-III looks change and 7A-FTE upgrade. His car has had my eye for a while now.
What about you three?

Good idea but would probably require quite a bit of Coomer's time and if the Calanders are any indication he just doesn't seem to have any at the moment.

If Coomer decides to Feature me one day thats cool but I wont ever ask for it.

The nominate for FR would be a very cool idea - but yeah Coomer is one busy guy.

Another car club that I know of does a "ride of the month". The way they nominate, is a moderator posts up a new topic at a random time that asks for nominations and the first 5 rides to get nominated (by members) are put into a poll topic and then the ride that recieves the most votes is "featured" or "the ride of the month". I dont know if this has already been tried on this site or not, but its just a suggestion. Sorry I just realized I probably couldve put this in the website discussion forum, but since we were all talking about it I just decided to post.
