I wanna know about some expiriences in the use of speed chips in Celica 6 gen. Is true the increse in 35 hps?
Increase HPs chips - 6G Celicas Forums

Never tried it with my celi... but most of those things just fool ur ecu into thinking the air is colder than it really is..... in my experience with those things on my old car and a couple friends..... there has been no noticable differece in anything.....
Might be different with the celi... but we've tried them in civics and a corolla.

These "chips" are a waste of money.
You'd be better off buying an intake, header, and a full exhaust.

I will return one day.
They don't work.

It is not a chip.
It is just a $0.25 resistor you can get from any Radio Shack.
It is hooked to the air intake temp sensor in serial.
The purpose is to increase the resistance of the air temp sensor and fools the ECU to think that colder air is entering the engine and advance the timing.
(the colder air it is, the higher the resistance the temp sensor will give out)
What really happens is the actual temp of air entering the cylinders is still high.
And the ECU does not rely on the temp sensor alone.
Once it detects more knock and other inconsistency of feedback from other sensors, it will figure out and pull the timing back.
In short: useless

Doritos are awesome. The new Tandoori flavour is the one that'll give you those 35hps.

One o'dem crazy Canadian freaks, eh?
i wish these 'chips' were pulled off of ebay... they're such a scam and people dont seem to learn. but like logically speaking if headers and an exhaust add only like 10 hp, do you really think a little chip will add 35? lol
it sucks cause like Venom, a reputable brand, makes some kind of ECU module, i mean i dont know if it works or not but if it does the same thing as these its like 300 dollars .... who knows.

Those ECU modules are cool... but you have to pair them up with the right engine mods to take advantage of them. All they can really do to a stock engine is adjust shift points in an auto and change around the AF ratio.... IMO they are best used to fine tune a modified engine.
