New Toyota Tundra - 6G Celicas Forums

As most probally know, Toyota released the new Tundra.

Thoughts and opinions?

Toyota's Official Site:

Tundra videos: (7 minutes that show alot of what it can do [grant it there all comercials for the most part, still interesting to see])

My personal standpoint:

Looks appealing, and after messing around the toyotas website, and looking at specs and hauling. If I SERIOUSLY needed a work truck, this is what I would get. Just for the shear towing and hauling capacity. 1 ton in the rear of a 1/2ton pickup...then it has the fastest acceration, and the shortest stoping distance on top of it all....just WOW.

Grant it is starting at 22k and to get a fully decked out your looking at about 45k...but that seems to be the going rate for a fullsize (1/2ton) pickup

REad a review today... they said it was like a trunk that drove like a car. The only problem they had was spongy brakes and a larger than expected turning radius

Dude, the new tundra is HUGE! well compared to the old ones anyways. But they just got a new shipment in of those at work, and i saw it and i was like WOAH, thats so badass! But in terms of badassness, that thing has nothing on the LS460L.... drool haha. laugh.gif
Lots of good stuff. I am not a fan of the
front end, I like the older tundras and tacomas
looks better than the new ones.

JDM guy made me do it.
I effing love it, but 45k is alot for a truck, and if you get the base model it of course does not have the beefy 5.7 liter

To me the this truck looks to similar to a Ford or GM.

I will return one day.
Powerful and all, I just dont like the front end look.

I didn't think I liked the front end at first, but when I saw it in person I changed my mind. I drove it around on their little off-road course at the st louis auto show... it was pimp. Seems to have alot more space than my f-150 and seems really solid(yes I know it's brand new)

I always felt the previous versions of the tundra were alot smaller than the silverado or f-150, but now it seems beefier

that damn thing is HUGE
I just got home from the Chicago Auto Show and let me tell you that thing is massive! i cant believe how huge it is... by far one of the biggest pickup trucks out there..

Yea its pretty big. Its going to compete with the larger US trucks like the Ram, Titan & Silverado.

my mouth just dropped when i saw it! it's just HUGE compared to the old one...hm...it doesn't look good in pictures but damn once you're right there...it's amazingly beautiful! no kidding...the side mirror is the size of my f'n head... smile.gif im very proud of toyota!
I'd go for a Tacoma myself... but if you're looking for a work truck, dayum, the Tundra is massive!
