car alarm - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #44709 6 posts Started by chandy1986
I have no idea how it works and i didnt get it installed. That previous owner did that. I can open and lock my doors with the remote but the alarm doesnt engage. I tested it by starting my car after arming it but the car started and alarm didnt go off. I even banged my car a few times to set it off.

Does my car alarm need to get its batteries changed biggrin.gif ?

Thanks for any advice
most of the time. start kill is an optional item. You may need to get a start kill relay installed.
If start kill is when u try to start the car and it does than I think i have that.

so u think i need to change the batteries, thats shouldnt be hard to do. What else could be wrong even after changing it?
Changing the batteries won't help you - if it is unlocking and locking the doors then the battery is fine. The battery of your car gives the alarm it's power not the batteries in the remote. Perhaps you just have keyless entry and not an actual alarm? Take a picture of your remote and I'll see if I can help you.

Theres a module i found under the dash that says 660XP so i think its a python 660xp alarm

Try opening a door and pressing arm - disarm - arm.

That is the pattern to enter and exit valet mode with a DEI alarm. DEI makes Python's. The led on the dash should go from on solid to off and then it should flash when you close the door and arm the alarm.

Hope this helps.
