Time for a change... - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #44539 32 posts Started by Mynzeyes
Well, after 9 years of owning my '94 Toyota Celica ST, I decided it was time for a change.

I put a lot of hard work and time and money into it, but nothing can take away the over 200k miles clocked on the chasis, and all the various little hack mods that eventually catch up to you.

So, I was shopping on eBay on Friday, as I frequently do at work, and came across this sweet ride.

Well, Saturday morning around 7am, I had a friend(Shocker, from these boards) cart me the 3 hours down there. I test drove it, and bought it immediately.

So, long story short, I picked up the '03 Sentra SE-R Spec V for $10,400. It has 45k miles, power everything, moon roof, factory Rockford Fosgate system, etc.

So out with the old:

And in with the new:

Already added a Sirius satellite reciever:

It's been fun. I still own the Celica, but its future is undecided. The most prominant thought in my mind right now is to part it out, return it to stock, and then give it to my girlfriend.

If you want, check the profile and PM me if there is something you want, and what you're willing to give me for it, and I will decide from there. Also, keep in mind that if it's something like the suspension, shifter, etc, I will need stock parts as replacements. So, cash + trade for parts.

Anyway, I'll still be around every now and again, especially seeing as how Shocker and I are putting his turbo on this weekend. And I will be checking PMs, and possibly putting up a FS thread in the near future.

Thanks for everything,
-John-

This should be a lesson for people to NOT "hack mod" their cars.. if you mod it, don't mod it half ass with crappy stuff.

well, everyone does it.

what i mean by hack mods is leaving a screw out here, or leaving a clip out there. losing a clip. or the seats, having to drill holes to mount them. etc.

having a 1994 Celica, expecting all bolts/screws/clips there is asking a lot. especially with how much this car has been through. it really wasn't hacked together, that's just my way of saying it. smile.gif.

it's not like i don't use quality parts, or know what i'm doing.

i guess i used the wrong word. smile.gif.

baiscally i'm saying, the car is 13 years old. the "hack mods" are not the reason that i'm getting rid of the car anyway. i've had it for 9+ years. it's time to move on. smile.gif.

Thanks Tim.

Yeah, it's still hard to believe that I was the 7th member, I've been on these boards for almost 5 years. Before that, it was celica.net, and toyotaunderground.net or whatever, and all those.

For the time being, I'll still have the Celica, but it will be in the girlfriend's possession.

For those interested, I will soon be posting a FS/FTrade thread..

Major parts that will be available:
- JDM Projector lows and clear highs. (thinking around $600 + stock trade)
- TRD short shifter with knob (thinking $100 + stock trade)
- Custom front/rear strut tower bars (thinking $200 shipped for the pair)
- MAYBE the 7th gen seats (don't know..)

NOT available:
- 2.25" cat-back exhaust
- Black face reverse indiglo gauges
- 8000K HIDs
- Ground Control coilovers with KYB shocks set-up

PM me in advance if interested for any of these, or want to make an offer.

I'll still be around, and I'll post updates about the Sentrash as I get them. (In Off-Topic, of course. smile.gif )

Congrats on the new ride. I had a sentra once, but nothing like that hehe. Mine had the huge 1.6 and went so fast the speedometer quit working. biggrin.gif Sad I never got to see you riding around the area, but I'll have to look out for Shocker and his turbo here soon. Good luck on that endeavour.

Well, Shocker is getting the exhaust and suspension setup, so you can check that out. I'll also have the car for a while, it just won't be like it is now, it'll be mostly stock. smile.gif. And someone a little more attractive will be driving it. (My girlfriend).

nah. lookin at a nice 4-1 header off ebay, then an APEXi WS2 cat-back. gonna try to keep a smooth look, and not do any kind of fart can/canister muffler.

AIM==Mynzeyes

the muffler is a universal Tsudo Carbon Fiber/Titanium canister, with 2.25" cat-back done at a shop. instead of going over the rear suspension arms, i went below it.

as you can see here:

Also, those wheels were 18" Team Loco 10-spokes.

btw, thanks for all the kind words guys.

Shoulda got a old se-r

Shoulda got a newer, nicer car, with less miles on it, still under warranty, that will last me a long time.

Oh wait, I did.

Besides, the old SE-Rs are kinda ugly to me. The oldest model I'd consider is the 99 Sentra SE-Limited.

AIM==Mynzeyes
I love SE-R's. Nice pick up John. thumbsup.gif I still feel bad about that whole hood thing. I ended up getting another box that was agian, too small. I guess i never realized just how big celica hoods are. Good luck with the new ride, and stick around!
