Need New Exhaust - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #44233 4 posts Started by dan85204
i went to meineke the other day and they quoted me $600 for a new cat-back exhaust. i thought that was outragous because i could buy a perfomance exhaust and do it myself for cheaper than that.

i was looking on ebay for a new exhaust, nothing special. i just need something cheap to pass inspection this month. here's what i found.
Ebay link

anybody know the quality of these parts? is everything included to replace from the cat-back?

thanks,

dan
thats a stock catback, yes. after you pass smog drop the rear muffler you can bolt on an axle back to get whatever sound you want.

Be careful with ebay because most parts won't have any warranty. Most aftermarket exhausts are fairly low quality, so if you plan to keep the car for more than a year or two, I'd be sure to get one with a good warranty.
If i were you, I'd try to find a Greddy sp2 catback exhaust. High quality stuff. They're about $500 new. Greddy has stopped selling them for our cars, but if you call around enough/emails etc, you can find one. I'm using one for a project i'm working on now...

Here is some info i have copied/pasted for you:
