Not many people seem to be too into audio here. Just going to put up my current work in progress. This is a SQ setup. 3 way active front + sub. Headunit connected optically to h701 processor. All inputs welcome

Gear:
Alpine 7998r fantomface headunit
Alpine F545 amps (2 of them)
Alpine CHA-S624 changer
Alpine H701 processor + Rux controller

Drivers:
Seas L18-RNXP 7" midbass
Hybrid Audio Legatia 3" mids
tweeters unconfirmed(DLS UP1C or seas neo)
Phase Linear Aliante 12" sub

TODO list:
- Cut kickpanel for install of 3" mids.(better pathlength difference and more footroom(no change from stock)
- Fiberglass kicks etc.
- Boot install
- Reinstall midbass drivers
- A pillar tweets

Cable routing :
Convenient grommet next to battery in engine bay


Inside wheelwell:


Managed to fit the power cable through grommet.


Ran 3 sets of speaker wires. Midbass,mids,tweets. Making sure I have enough slack in the cables to not require a rerun.



Done:


Will cut my kickpanels. The bit of metal to the right of the speaker wires hanging down. 1mm -ish thick. will allow me to sink the 3inch midrange speaker deeper into kickpanels and also allow more footroom and minimise pathlength difference.

still deciding if I should make my life hard and have side mounted amps or just go with false floor amp setup.

Should be good when its finished mate.
Go for the extra work side amps, you'll only end up regreting not doing it in the end.

I keep meaning to get around to doing something with mine, had a couple of subs sitting in my house for 3 years now, just not had time.

Alinate will do a great job - these subs are amazing I actually vent a cheaper way and got my self W3 JL

Thanks for the comments. JL subs are good too and I actually played around with a jl12w6v1 but the aliante is too pretty to sell. I have a feeling that I will regret it if I do not at least attempt to do the side mounted amps.... will have a crack at it when I am free.

It will be tricky and will involve fiberglassing + mdf. The left side should house the amp and the changer right behind it accessible through a cover at the top. and the right side will house the h701 processor behind the amp.
I have already played with fiberglass and made a tyre well enclosure but I guess this would be much trickier.

Angle Grinder ;D! . Sparks was a bit of a concern but otherwise I have a feeling I might get addicted to this tool....., first time with an angle grinder.

Sharp edges removed with dremel bit and a bit of paint was sprayed on llater to prevent any chance of rust.

Little update. went back to original plan.

Tyrewell fiberglass enclosure done. no pics.

Router to cut a straight edge since I do not have access to circ saw or table saw.Came out great, just took longer.


45degree cut.


False floor initial cutout + sub baffle .will be carpeted.


Reason for the big baffle is because the tyrewell is not centered. Also allows me to remove my sub instead of having to remove the whole false floor before having access to sub.

Still have to cut the hole for the subwoofer and attach the baffle to the enclosure. would be tomorrow's job.

Awsome, and please replace that Alipine with something more powerful MBQuart . Its lookng good, eh that reminds me how much time I spend doing all the stuff you are doing now. Oh and for the kick's please get a good resperator (spend at least $40) cuz that thing will get you really high when u start doing the first layer (the in car one, to get the shape).

the alpines are 170rms x 4 (birthcert) or 170x2 + 500x1 (4ohms) . not too popular here regarding mb quarts. Hey.... the tyre well is bad enough already and the fumes is quite bad. i recommend that people get a respirator too. fiberglass dust do not break up in your body too well.

Hey steel. Project is going fine. just playing around with the midrange location and also did a bit of my false floor today. The glue used to trim the a-pillars isn't holding up under the sun so I will have to re-do that somewhere down the line.

Did you use a hot-glue gun mate? I used that with my rear lights and the sun caused them to come apart. I am going to retry it with some of the stuff that you use to fix bodykits on as that is also very sticky and the sun shouldn't remelt it.

Just a thought, ignore me if thats not the problem.

nah not hot glue heh. I used Ados F2(contact cement) in a pot. Will have to find some other glue.

contact cement shouldn't be affected by the heat of the sun I wouldn't have thought.

Try some Epoxy with the 2 tubes that you have to mix together, or like I said the bodykit adhesive.
