My high beams have some condensation in them.... its driving me absolutely nuts. Anybody have any suggestions on what to do to get it out or what is causing this? It rained here for about two months straight... does that have anything to do with it?

ive had the same problem Jen ... i had condensation in my passengers side high beam.. it pissed me off to no end.. but its wrecked now.. so i might as well not worry about it >> .... any advice on how to fix condensation would be great to hear >>

Ok guys, this may sound gehtto.. but...

Un fasten your bulb .. and use a hair dryer hot air into there. The rubber seals are all on the male ends of the light stuff.. sooooooooooo go nuts. The water will dry up!

I've done it countless times. Believe me.

I've got the same problem. I was thinking about taking the light housing out and putting silicone sealant wherever there are two pieces of plastic that connect. I don't know if it will work though. >>

check for a small hole or two on the front of the headlight. i had the same problem and i had a hole in the glass so i had to but a new headlight >> , but it looks so much better now i am happy i did it

John: That won't always work... especially on cold and dense days... It'll help release the water, but not evaporate it.

Jen: You'll either need to isolate the source, or just relace the whole assembly if you can't find the cause of the problem.

i have that same problem too this it was you have to do.. take the casing off.. and drill 3 holes at the bottom if the case and 2 on the back next to the bulb and one on top... problem solved..

I've had a little condensation in my drivers side high beam ever since I got the car 3 years ago. It hasn't gotton any worse and the light has never blown out. I just deal with it because I don't want to mess with it.

YIKES.. what's all these talk about drilling people..

Ive got the same problem forever.. and its on the passenger side high beam. and I dont mean condensation.. I mean dripping wet.. water on the inside of the lense.

so what do I do?? unscrew the bulb and let the housing air out. parking it under the sun helps the most.. especially during summer. and since it's only one light.. its gotta be that the seal isnt very good. so I take care not to aim at the light when I wash my car.

but of course.. since I dont use the high beam much.. I can just let the bulb unscrewed for weeks at a time and the water would eventually evaporate.

my headlight don't have any water in them if you want to get rid of the water this is what you should do. order the jdm headlights and ship them to me and ill send you the original headlights for FREE yes you herd me FREE absolutly no charge that way you won't have to deal with drilling holes lol

mine came with a lot of water in the driver's side high beam assembly. I used a hand pump and pumped the water out of the headlights and use some towel to try and dry as much as I could and as soon as the dry cold weather came, the headlight dried itself up.

People...Dont drill holes!!!

All you have to do is use silicone to seal the housing and, shabang, you've got it. I would check for holes in the glass 1st, but if that isnt it go with the silicone.

i have about an inch of water in my drivers side high beam.... im gonna drain it and fix the problem when i put my kit on....

my driver side high beam is bad too... last month I tried to take my bumper off to fix it with no sucess- i even snapped one of the screws from under the hood >> ...

no kidding. there are 3 in the fender, damn impossible to get to. and the plastic clips that you unscrew a little, then they pop out? yah, those are about the most un-reliable things in the world. I finally got the bumper off, got the light out, used a little bleach where the water left stains, and im gonna seal it up with some silicone. hopefully this will work, and ill just have to drive without the bumper cover for a few days.

Here's what I did before I eventually had to replace my high beam...

Take a shop vac (or a regular vaccuum, but it WILL get ruined). Duct tape a good length of plastic tubing (about .25" in diameter and about a foot long - you can get it at any hardware store) to the end of the vac hose to make a seal. Take out your bulb, stick the tubing into the headlight and turn on the vaccuum. If the tubing you get is firm enough you can run it all around the inside of the light and up against the inner part of the lense where the condensation builds up; yet it needs to be a little flexible too. Problem solved, no bumper removal.

PS - I ruined my moms vaccuum doing this, it was a regular vac and I sucked a ton of water with it. Use a wet/dry shop vac >>

I have this happen in my passenger side high beam all the time... it's not a lot of water, just some condensation.. it eventually evaporates on its own. A buddy of mine had a tiburon (97 i think) and it had water in the headlight casing after only a few weeks straight from the factory.

I have condensation in my driver side high beam too! I'm glad I'm not the only one. I was thinking about the hair dryer idea lmao. It is starting to get on my nerves. it's not a lot of water, just condensation on the front of it.

i have some inches.... i was thinking about putting a fish in there.... that would be a nice mod... i could mod a little door on the inside so i could feed it...

you could have a whole habitat in there. like those things where you put soil, grass, plants and stuff, and then you can have frogs and salamanders live in there! hmm, i forget what they are called.... damn i should have left that water in there... >>
