Why don't you fill us in on the size washers you used diameter and thickness please.

87 4runner DLX 22re, 5spd, 4.30gr, 4" lift, 30" tires, HID w/ Projectors, 6spkr + sub, custom exhaust, 94 celica leather seats, SR5 gauge cluster and clinometer. Future engine swap... possibly a 2jzge.
thats a good idea^^^ 3-1.5mm flat washers i match the plate spring with washers that i had at the shop
So the washers are 1.5mm in thickness? And for diameter you just matched the washers up to the spring plate?

What happened with your OP now?

im thinking of doing this so i can provide sufficient oil lubrication at high rpms like 8500. but before i do, how much of a pressure difference did you notice?

Uh... right.... It's good toyota makes a really damn good motor that can take a lot of user intential abuse. I don't mean the 8500rpm either.

do some research. read more. educate yourself. learn how to hook parts up correctly.
i don't understand what your deal is.

I made a mistake in my haste.

However, you clearly show your lack of automotive talent like night and day.
Since you are so educate in these fields, I won't need to explain why your idea here is wack and I won't need to say "told you so" when you blow your **** up.

no id actually like to hear why this idea is wack.
why wouldn't more oil pressure flow more fresh oil at higher revs?
why wouldn't this add protection to make sure no bearings furthest from the pump will be starved of oil?

also about my automotive talent, dont be sour because i pointed out indisputable mistakes in your setup.

A. you don't need that much oil flow at high rpms
B. The factory oil pump was designed for a certain RPM range @ x pressure value. If you shim the pump and run to 8500rpm you're going to risk pump cavitation and then sucking your sump dry.

buried under his 13 year old e-badass way of talking.. he might have a point..

edit: edited because im going to do my own research and get back to you wink.gif

edit again: it seems as if the main risk is the relief valve breaking and of course toasting your engine.

whos to say you dont. im pretty sure on every chrisk motor build he uses a higher flowing oil pump. he mustn't know he doest need it.

also im not gunna be using the stock amount of oil, i have almost 1 qt and a half more in the system, so i dont see that happening.
