I'm just a poor college guy wanting to bad to ask my gf to be my wife (which she'll say yes, so no worries haha).

I found this website through google, and read everything twice maybe. Went to a local jeweler and asked him about it. He hasn't seen one yet, but has heard of the good quality. He offered me a .33 carat diamond w/ H coloring and setting for 800 dollars (he has it marked for 1500.00). I said, tell ya what, let me order a loose syn-diamond from DNL, .33 carat, and i'll bring it in and we can compare. He told me if the real diamond looks better, he'll give me a little bit better deal and buy the DNL diamond from me.

Any of you guys heard or have a DNL diamond?

Good that you know about it before you buy, a lot of people are geting scam with these diamonds ( they are excellent quality ) some seller are selling this diamonds as they were 100 % natural diamonds. since you are looking for something nice that fits your pocket I say get it. they are excellent and unless you tell everyone the average person won't know the diference. they are made out of carbon ( just as regular diamonds ) the chemical composition is the same and everything but these diamonds are man made no natural and that's why they are cheaper.

BTW there are two ways that I know of for you to check if the diamond is real

1- there is a machine that does a test smile.gif
2- an original diamond will glow in the dark for a short period of time ( note that the diamond has to be big enough for you to notice this )

I got my engagement ring with these diamonds. I desing the ring myself took the drawing to the jeweler and like a month after I was on my knees. It's worth to do it with all the big details when you know she'll say yes !

Wow, really? Kinda ironic, i drew up a design with my jeweler also. Custom drawn in 18KW gold. I'm excited for the ring, and the event of asking her to be mine. If it isn't to much trouble, is there anyway i can have you send me some pictures of your finished ring, on and off her hand (it can be your hand too, hahaha, i just want to see it with our natural skin color). Thanks for your response Culpable.

Great you ruin my day !

My GF lives in Dominican Republic and I'm in Jersey, so if I can get her to come here the last thing I would think of is a Pic.

J/K

I'll see if she can get me a close-up pic of the ring, may take a few days. the ring I got for her was in platinium, you can also try white gold which look basicly the same and is cheaper, I think the regular yellow gold just don't let the diamonds to shine enough.
I apologize, it sucks (sucks doesn't even explain it, i know, i know) to be away from the one. I appreciate the offer of having her take one, however, if it leads to be to much trouble, don't worry about it. I thought about platinum, but then agian, i would be kinda trading one finance for another.

I also agree with the yellow gold, i think it strikes somewhat of an inpurity into the diamond. I have NEVER liked yellow gold.

The platinum is really expensive, and like you said, the white and plat look just about the same, as long as the white gold has that enamel coating (i think thats what it is) that really shines the ring up. Then agian, that's why i'm going 18 KW, that way it's really really clean white gold and has a very strong structure to it.

I ordered a .36 Carat Round Brilliant Cut (Loose Gemstone) and had production of my custom ring started. I'm very very excited, i'll have to post up pics for future viewers.

Wish me luck!

oh i'm sooo lucky, all i'd need to get her is a titanium band with an inscription. she wouldnt want a diamond or gold, those get broken or mashed up too easily when wrenching on things biggrin.gif im just a lucky sun of a gun i guess, i found me a girl who like wrenching on everything as much as i do.
