Some extreme Bodywork - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #42104 45 posts Started by 6th_celi_vert
Before i roll the car in for paint (next month) i was wanting to Do something Extremely Custom to my front end.

Here are two of my ideas. Tell me what you think, im not soft, bash all you want.

PS: Im aware these are $hitty chops, i did it quickly.

Shaved High beams. (as in, there wouldnt be any...period)

Shaved High beams and turn signal vents (no high beams, signals mounted inside grill out of sight when not lit)

Cuz Thats How Us Country Boyz RollGrowing up racing motocross, i learned one thing..."Always wear clean underwear, you never know when the Paramedics are gonna have to cut your pants off of you"
I thought about this back in the day, the idea was not well received. After I saw an old photoshop of coomer's car w/out high beams, I didn't want to do it either.

i think it takes away from the beauty of our celicas
im all in for some more custom work but it doesnt look right at all. you have the body lines from the hi-beams that go right to the hood. the head lights look really small now though. would the bumper just be flat where the hi-beam was? the blinkers would look fine smoked.
Looks nice if you have absolutely no taste.

the high beam question involving the lines of the hood is one thing that ive been pondering on and trying to wrap my mind around.. If push came to shove, it would involve chopping up my carbon fiber hood and then having to paint it the same color as the car.<--doubt thats gonna happen, i love my carbon to much.

yeah, ive diminished the idea of no highs after thinking about the hood lines and what not, but i do think im gonna go with shaved blinker vents.

i'm for the shave blinkers
I dont like the idea of shaved highs at all, that is just my opinion. As far as the marker slots, i think it would look good molded shut and mounted a different way. Like mold the air vent (hole) shut and then recut into the fiberglass and some diff way mount the turns. I think that would look hot.
id say leave it as is....and prolly cut out a vent in the middle jus liek a gt-four...my humble opinion wink.gif

That's a fine way to put it if you want to be a dick.

Did another thought make it out onto the page???

But no. I don't really dig it. One thing that really attracted me to Celicas is that 4 light combo, and the lines of the hood just flow so well into those 2 front lights. I think it would look wrong without them.

X2

One recomendation I have is for your blinkers..... You know how high end cars have turns on the backside of their side mirrors? They are little LED slits and maybe using that idea instead of your blinkers would be a cool mod imo.

Darin H.
I'd say it looks like a larger size Del So.

eww.

-TomazWSwww.tomazws.com
the lines of it definitely wouldn't look right imo kindasad.gif
i think that clear turn signals would look better though than the no turn signals
and like DeW H0e GT said a center vent would look nice

THE STUFFS FOR SALE!

Teh Celica sleeps for Winter '06. Suspension overhaul begins........
that looks horrible.

if the 6th gens only had 2 headlights, i wouldn't have bought it, honestly. the whole 'look' comes with the 4 seperate headlights, you don't find that on many cars at all.

I agree, it completely takes away the identity of the celica.

I think this would look hot. I did something similar, but i put fog lights in instead of the turn signal.

So ive decided the high's are staying. Im gonna do the Shaved blinkers, and am thinking on the vent in middle. Not sure yet.

Its just too !!!RICEY!!! to be doing that. If you are going to make a car look different but keeping the identity of a car, keep it CLEAN.

Look at the difference between these two cars.

I personally don't like the shaved high beams look but how about just make black covers (the tinted kind where the light still gets through) that come flush with the bumper. that way you kinda get the look and can still use your high beams and not worry about the hood lines.
