My grandfather is getting ready to buy a 5th gen Celica for my little brother and i was wondering if the 6th gen trannies are interchangeble with the 5th gens.

I thought they were, but im not sure.

depends on the motor...

the 5th gen GTs have the s53, the 6th gen GTs have the s54...they are interchangable, you just need the correct clutch combination.
