Topic #41740 36 posts Started by SHRiNE
Why is the kit cheap? Anyone that has it, does it fit right from the box, ir is there alot of cutting involved?

Thanks,

-SHRiNE
Well its one of the more common kits out there...as far as fitment depends on where you buy the kit from. Talk to a member named Boosted6g hes a great seller or try andysautoparts.com or cyberbestbuy.com

Hey read the sticky about bodykits. It will help you out a lot. And honestly no kit that you buy even if it's brand name is gonna fit perfect.
yeah i think the mold has been copied so much that the shape just isnt the same anymore... but i still think its one of the sexiest kits out there still..just cause it was designed for our cars not just modified from another one...

i have to dissagree with that cause i got my c-one front from vis racing and it fit like a glove... i guess it just depends whoyou get it from... im guessing that if you get the kit straight from veilside it will fit like it was oem...

i disagree, i have seen the fronts on other cars, along with blitz and combats, thats why i bought a C-ONE off of boosted6g cause its unique basically to the celica, and if im driving down the road no-one will say, oh hey my brother has that kit.
i do like the invader, but its pretty common round here on a few cars.

BTW, i just looked at your pics, i see you went with C-ONE also, nice. it looks good.

thats why i went with c-one. Got it from VIS also. It fit ok. But not the best. The vader kit i had fit like crap gapped everywhere. But the c-one i got is way better.
I got the Invader kit from www.racerwheel.com and it was horrible the only part that fit were the side skirts and the front bumper is about 2 inches away from the headlights and the bottom piece doesnt fit until i bend the fenders or somethin, the rear doesnt go on at all i dont even know whats the problem, i decided not to mess with it ill just have a shop do it, but the amount of money is the issue.
u get what u pay for...if u were getting a bodykit, dont be too cheap...either u pay more for the kit itself and have it fit nice, or u pay cheap for the kit, and have a bodyshop fix it more which will cost u more money too. either way ur gonna pay...its just the matter of which way is less of a hassle.

but i paid $550 for a kit that doesnt fit right at all
Hmm, Ill just talk to boosted when I need to. Seema like the only smart thing to do, cause mycelicagt paid the full price and his still doesnt fit. Thanks for the help guys.
Ya thats what i'd do. And Ralph the only reason i said honestly no kit fits perfect. Is because the guy that is doing all my bodywork, bought a urathane bodykit for his CRX and he had to cut the sides, front, and rear bumper to fit. But i know my front bumper and sides i got from boosted fit fine.
it is true that a lot of kits dont fit...some look down right ugly and dont even look like it belongs on that car but if you go with a manufacturer that designed the kit for a specific car, like veilside for our celicas im pretty sure its gonna fit just right...of course then you woud end up paying like 1700 bucks just for the front..lol

I got a Invader kit from Boosted6g. Cool guy. Mines came predrilled already. Was from a demo car. PM him and see what he can do.

But there is something in having an "Official" Veilside kit. And that something is pretty much just bragging rights, and the fact that you spent money with no chance of any return on it.
^ Agreed, the only prob with body kits is they are fiberglass. If you live ANYWHERE near bumpy roads dont do it. I have a C-One front and i have cracked it already. I got it fixed and cant even tell it was there, but it made me want to cry. So if your gonna get a kit and live in a rough area do yourself a favor and dont buy a $1500+ kit. just my advice and opinion.
^agreed. Because veilside and real c-one is still fiberglass. They don't make any polyurithane kits for our car.

yeah i know how you feel ... i had my car towed when my timing belt ripped and the tow guy cracked my front bumper..i wanted to punch him...but i knew it wasnt his fault..

Did insurance cover it? Or did the tow company..or you had to?
I have an Invader front that was bought somewhere on the internet...don't remember where, but it was about $175. The shop that did the work ordered it and had it shipped there, so I didn't have to worry bout shipping. I had it put on in place of my stock front that was destroyed in an accident, so the car insurance was taking care of it. The shop had to cut to make the turn signals fit and they had to have a steel bar cut and installed on the front of the steel bumper so the Invader front could sit in place correctly, but it ended up fitting really nice with the exception of the lower lip piece just being off a lil' bit in the center where the sharp corners meet the top piece. Check it out for urself...BBW Profile
