Very informative post.
Turns out the one I purchased is a fake...no model numbers or anything. Looks just like those, but close examination...it is not a Walbro.
i got one of those aswell, then purchased an Aeromotive Stealth 340
What I think when you think I care
so are there fake walbros out there WITH a brand on it? I bought a walbro from ebay, but it has the branding on it and the part number checks out.

Update on that walbro intank noise video? My friend installed one in his car, we were expecting a whirring fuel pump noise like in a race car, but it was dead silent

as requested. You can't hear it a bit more once the idle drops back to under 1,000 rpm. the car was still cold. I have a magnaflow 14inch resonator and magnaflow exhaust by the way. When I put my phone behind the rear left tire is when you can hear the whining the most.

our cars are older so sound insulation wasn't a top priority in production. Its not like i hate it, but when I want peace and quite i hear that annoying sound. sounds like your speaker when it makes bad contact with your wires and sounds like a turbo sort of. not really sure how to describe the noise, but it isn't pleasant

put the oem pump back, and be done with it. why do you need aftermarket?

i threw oem away when i first got the car. I thought oem pump wasn't the same between beams and 5sfe engine. then when I found out they were the same it is too late.

just installed 341 walbro pump, it doesn't whine

gas tank is too sound proof. used hose clamp to hold it tight with the bracket
the assembly looked just like this when installed, except with a hose clamp around it

Why did you buy the 341 instead of the correct part? That's the whole point of this thread.

The 341 fits just fine by pulling back the fuel line closer to the bracket, what does yours look like, is it different to Gt4

It looks cockeyed; hence this thread.

If your bracket is just like mine then it works just fine , I used this thread to get the right part number and noticed the one I already had was the wrong one, so tried to find proof that it wouldn't work, but couldn't find any. So I went ahead and did it , fuel pump isn't something u look at every day , so who cares Wat it looks like ?

If it's worth doing, it's worth doing right. The 341 is what everyone had been using and it seems ok. It's just not the right part. We can avoid zip ties and hose clamps if we have the right pump. Unfortunately I didn't know it was wrong until after I started installing mine. You'll probably be fine. I was just confused as to why you chose the 341 instead of the correct part.
