So is the extra pipe attached to the filter or just positioned under it?
it positionrd IN the heat sheild but not to the filter

I'm on day 3 now and my celica is running better than yesterday. Power is still strong and I can already see a change in the gas mileage. I think this thing works!!
here is my engine bay

ya the "heat box"!!! and i made a hole on the top of the filter and put a screen on it for more air flow

what did you make that heat box out of? And Shocker... could we get a pic of the piping that extends the stock air pipe through the fender?

actually I'll bet with the c-one CF hood, you get really good airflow into the heat box.

its all in your head lipweb, or............prove us wrong and dyno it, one time with it and one time without
i have a tornado in my intake system...i'll admit that it does improve slightly and not all that smile.gif ...after a few months i decided to take it out and there was a slight lag in the mid range frown.gif ....on top of everything i never reset the ecu or taken off the battery terminals until i got my headers a couple months ago...the heat box is a good idea though...i think if you really want power then it's best off to boost...

Don't worry about the dyno. I'm a month away from that. I'll tell you that it's not in my head when I can see that on day 4 my rpms are hitting 6and 1/2 rpms when I could barely hit 6 before. The car picks up much harder at 3000 rpms. I could barely feel it before. I'm giving it a week though just to see what my gas mileage will be. My average is 347 a tank with my driving style. If it hits over that then it's worth every penny.

I have to agree with that but every little horse counts until you get the boost.

i know she whistles when i accelerate...not sure about the airflow from the hood.

mine whistles too at about 5k till redline...sounds like a turbo spooling.

i hate to say it, but the geo has the same 'turbo' sound at the top end of its power band. but im sure its much less with my mostly stock intake.

You do know they sell them like that right? I got one for my ex-girls tC and it whistles all through the RPM range anytime you increase throttle. The ones I buy have a second smaller cone inverted in the middle for increased intake area. Either will make a LITTLE throttle response diff. A friend of mine tried the Tornado thing and I'm inclined to agree with the resetting of the ECU explanation. After a few days it was no faster or more fuel efficient than before. If you want gains like this that you can actually feel and play with: get a SAFCII and have it tuned on a wideband o2 at minimum by someone who actually knows what they are doing. I did and I felt REAL gains that can be measured at the track - where it counts. Obviously a dyno tune would be way better.
Should say I have not even checked out theSpiral Max though. Good luck. Hope it actually does something. As stated above: Even if it's only an increase in gas mileage that would be worth it in this day and age.
