Well well well, I had my new exhaust done today by HPR customs. it is a 2.5" mandrel bend pipe, magnaflow hi-flow cat and magnaflow muffler and over the axle. I originally wanted the 3" but the installer said there will be problem with clearance going over the axle, so...well. I'm happy to say that my boost gauge did read a tad over 9psi when I took it for a drive. Overall I'm very happy with the exhaust work except for the extra decibels from the magnaflow muffler. Now I'm thinking silencer? Maybe time will tell, I may get used to it.

i have a theory why some people get a magnaflow and think its quiet, while others get one and think its too loud.

when you look at your exhaust, does the tip stick out past the bumper a good bit, or is it flush with the bumper? if its flush, youll hear it more in the car, but if it sticks out past it then you wont hear it as much. at least thats my theory. let me know how yours is.

Yes it is flushed with the bumper with a 4" tip and it has a deep tone to it. I don't know which model or # it is but I will try to snap pic later.

thats why its so loud then. instead of trying a silencer, try to have your exhaust guy move the muffler back a little so that the tip sticks out past the bumper. if the muffler tip is flush with the bumper, the sound will just resonate throught the whole car, making it much louder and more annoying.

i have a full 3in exhaust from the turbo back, with no cats or resonators and my magnaflow is fairly quiet and not at all annoying.

you have to disconnect the 2nd port on the WG and cap it off when connecting any type of boost controller. if you dont, it wont work correctly.

Not to hijack....curious as to what exactly this TVIS plate is, where its found, and what it does biggrin.gif
nm, question was answered above rolleyes.gif

Well Lagos, I just had a hi flow resonator put in today and boy, what a big difference in sound! Now the car is as quiet as stock be but with a very deep note..., just a beautiful note. I guess the resonator was the answer in my case. The only drawback was the boost takes a little reving than before to reach its max, but thats a small price to pay considering all the noise a vibrations above 65mph.
Anyway, just want to let you guys know in case someone else is having similar issue. By the way, my exhause pipe is 2.5", so a 3" or more may not neccessary have the same issues.
Thanks
Eli
