7age water pump pulley - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #40467 8 posts Started by blueskycelica
Ok, I'm sure the 7age discussion has come up before.

Putting a 4age head on the 7afe block, blah, blah, blah...

I'm in the process of doing this and things are going smoothly and now I running into a snag. I read that you should replace the water pump of the 7afe with the 4age water pump. OK, well the pulley on the 4age doesn't hold a dual belt pulley. The 7afe does and I can't change the two out because the bolt holes don't line up. Anyone had this problem before?

i used the 7afe water pump on my 7agte

yea your 3sgte is cool but ill stick to my 7agte
so you can use the 7afe water pump and it works ok
There's quite a bit more to worry about besides the waterpump pulley. The 7AFE and 4AGE (16V) route waterlines completely different. The pump pulley is just the start...

if you use the 7age pump, how do you change up the flow and make everything fit properly. Some of the fittings don't even match up right?
I did that set up in my '89 4dr & my bigest problem was the timing...
you should find out if any one did it with out adj can gears... thats hard...

The 7AFE flows water through the head first, then to the block through the pump. The 4AG flows water through the block first, then exits through the head. Go take a look at how the AW11's and AE92's did it with their 4AGE's... you gotta do something similar with a 7AG.
